They pelted me with snow. I lacked the energy to retaliate, so I just huddled on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.

Suddenly, nine-year-old Scott showed up and drove them all away.

He then knelt before me, carefully wiping the snow from my hair. "Your name's Nadia, isn't it? I'm Scott. Pay no attention to their words. They're clueless. You're not stupid. Just stick with me. No one will bother you as long as I'm here."
