Chapter 10

I exhaled deeply before speaking. "Too much time has gone by, and explanations are pointless now. I don't harbor resentment towards him, nor do I require his justification."

"If you're seeking Clyde's forgiveness, you'll need to plead with him. Clearing snow here won't make any difference."

Clyde's father greeted me warmly, beaming.

"Angela, you've grown even more lovely. Your uncle barely recognized you."

I knitted my brows as I observed the pair standing before me.

Clyde moved forward, extending the flowers with an optimistic look. His gaze met mine.

"Angela, it's been some time."

I had no alternative but to guide them to the sitting room. Shortly after, my parents arrived.

It then dawned on me that Clyde and his father had come to discuss resuming the marriage plans with our family.
