Evangelo

Melinda woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside the window, but her mind was still stuck on the mysterious events of the previous night. She stretched, feeling a bit stiff from their adventures. Caroline was already up, sitting at the small table by the window and sipping a cup of coffee.

"Morning," Melinda said, swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

Caroline smiled. "Good morning. I ordered us some breakfast. It should be here soon."

Melinda yawned, rubbing her eyes. "Thanks, Caroline. I'm starving."

As they waited for their breakfast to arrive, Melinda checked her phone for any messages. She was still trying to get in touch with some of her vampire contacts, hoping they might have some information about the mysterious forces at work in Middlesburg.

It didn't help that network was so poor in this town.

Their breakfast arrived, and they spent the rest of the morning eating and planning their next move. As they finished up, Melinda stood, stretching her arms over her head.

"Okay, Caroline. Let's get moving. We need to find a way to meet Evangelo Peregrine."

Caroline nodded, gathering her things. "But how? We can't just walk up to him and introduce ourselves."

Melinda grinned mischievously. "Leave that to me. I have a plan."

They spent the rest of the day gathering information and resources, trying to find a way to get close to Evangelo. As the sun began to set, they made their way to the town's famous 'Blooded Rose',the bar they had gone to yesterday.

Melinda's eyes scanned the crowded room, taking in the sights and sounds of the club. Caroline followed close behind, her eyes fixed on Melinda's back.

As Melinda and Caroline followed the mysterious figure through the crowded club, they couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. They had been searching for Evangelo Peregrine for what felt like hours but couldn't catch even a glimpse of him. Victor had told her that he would be making an appearance at the 'Blooded Rose' and described to her what he looks like.

As they pushed through the crowd, Melinda's eyes scanned the room, searching for any sign of Evangelo. And then, suddenly, she saw him.

He was standing by the bar, his back to them, his broad shoulders and chiseled physique evident even from across the room. As he turned to face them, Melinda's breath caught in her throat.

Evangelo Peregrine was even more beautiful than she had imagined. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into her soul, his chiseled features and sharp jawline making him look like a marble statue come to life. His dark hair was perfectly messy, framing his face in a way that made him look both rugged and refined.

But it was his eyes that truly caught Melinda's attention. They seemed to hold a deep sadness, a sense of wisdom and knowledge that was both captivating and intimidating.

As Evangelo's gaze met Melinda's, she felt a jolt of electricity run through her body. It was as if she had been punched in the gut, her breath knocked out of her.

Caroline's voice was barely audible over the music. "Melinda, is that...?"

Melinda nodded, her eyes still locked on Evangelo's. "That's him," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Evangelo's gaze never wavered, his eyes seeming to bore into Melinda's very soul. And then, slowly, he began to move towards them, his movements fluid and predatory.

Melinda felt a shiver run down her spine as Evangelo approached, his eyes never leaving hers. She had a feeling that she was in grave danger, that this mysterious and beautiful stranger was going to change her life forever.

As Evangelo approached, Melinda raised an eyebrow, her eyes locked on his. "Well, well, well. Look what we've got here," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Evangelo's gaze never wavered, his eyes seeming to bore into Melinda's very soul. He stopped in front of her, his expression unreadable.

Melinda scoffed, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "Just what I need, another vampire with a bad case of immortal arrogance. Thinking the world revolves around his eternal existence, no doubt."

Evangelo's eyes seemed to gleam with intensity, but his expression remained stoic.

Melinda felt a shiver run down her spine as she gazed into his eyes. There was something about him that was utterly captivating, something that made her want to keep looking, to keep trying to unravel the mystery that was Evangelo Peregrine.

She raised an eyebrow, her eyes locked on his. "You know, for a vampire, you're not very chatty."

Evangelo's expression remained unreadable, his eyes never leaving hers.

Melinda's eyes narrowed, her gaze locked on his. "What's going on behind those eyes of yours?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Evangelo's expression didn't change, but he finally spoke, his voice low and smooth. "You're looking for something you shouldn't be looking for."

Melinda's eyes snapped back to his, her heart racing with excitement. "And what might that be?" she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Evangelo's expression remained stoic, but his eyes seemed to gleam with intensity. "You know exactly what I'm talking about."

Melinda raised an eyebrow, her eyes locked on his. "I'm afraid I don't."

Evangelo's expression didn't change, but he turned and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

Melinda watched him go, her eyes narrowed in frustration. What was he talking about? Was it the ring?

Melinda turned to Caroline, her eyes wide with confusion. "What just happened?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Caroline shook her head, her eyes scanning the crowd. "I have no idea, but I think we just got dismissed."

Melinda's eyes narrowed, her gaze scanning the crowd, searching for Evangelo. But he was gone, vanished into thin air.

She turned back to Caroline, her mind racing. "We need to find out what he's talking about. Let's see if we can dig up any more information."

Caroline nodded, her eyes locked on Melinda's. "But be careful, Melinda. There's something about him that doesn't feel right."

Melinda raised an eyebrow, her eyes glinting with amusement. "You mean besides the fact that he's a vampire?"

Caroline smiled, her eyes sparkling with humor. "Yeah, besides that."

Melinda grinned, her eyes scanning the crowd. "Don't worry, Caroline. I can handle myself."

But as she turned to walk away, she couldn't shake the feeling that Evangelo Peregrine was more than just a mysterious vampire. He was a puzzle, a riddle waiting to be solved. And Melinda was determined to uncover his secrets.
