Chapter 9

Austin and I were celebrating our wedding, surrounded by influential guests my parents had carefully selected over the years. I had no desire to become the subject of embarrassing gossip or to spoil the event my parents had eagerly anticipated for so long.

I signaled Austin to summon security. They swiftly removed Zachary from the premises without hesitation.

The brief disturbance didn't disrupt the rest of the ceremony.

The remainder of the day unfolded smoothly, and by the time we'd finished the traditional rituals and bid farewell to our guests, it felt nearly perfect.

As the final guests departed, I turned to Austin.

"Would you mind if I took a moment to address what just occurred? I need to speak with him and bring this to a proper conclusion."

Austin didn't waver. His confidence in me was unwavering.

"Of course," he replied, his tone composed yet filled with subtle support. "Just be cautious. If you need me, simply call. I'll be waiting right here."
