Ella and Alexander strolled through the park, each holding an ice cream cone in their hand. The park was alive with the soft murmur of distant conversation even though it was already evening.
Alexander couldn't help but notice a quiet sadness in Ella's eyes.
Glancing at her, he asked in a concerned tone, "Are you all right? You seem a bit… down tonight."
Ella managed a small smile, "I'm okay." She told him as she took a bite of her ice cream.
As they walked side by side, Ella's mind wandered. She'd been meaning to bring up the conversation of what they were to each other. She couldn't deny her feelings for Alexander even if she had wanted to. She just knew she was in love with him. It was a feeling that surpassed likeness, and yet she didn't know what their relationship really meant to him.
Every word she had rehearsed in her mind became a blur. 'Would voicing my feelings push him away?' She wondered.
