At age 23, Liam Sanders had tasted everything life had to throw at him. As an orphan at birth and a victim of the system, he lived his life believing that he was just an ordinary person. His life was filled with misery, but there was one ray of hope in his life- his girlfriend.

That lasted until he found her cheating on him in the middle of his apartment with his best friend.  Feeling betrayed, Liam sought to end it all by taking his life, and just as planned, he got hit by the truck in the middle of the busy street.

It should have been Liam’s end, but for some reason, he survived and woke up three days after in a hospital with no injuries and a whole new set of memories in his mind.
And that is how he became the Immortal Warlock in the Modern World.

"Excuse me, but where are we headed to? Is this really the way to Lunaris's Temple? Aren't temples usually located outside cities and in abandoned places?"

Liam asked curiously. He felt curious to know more about this.

Most of the movies, games, and other works of fiction always made temples out to be some mystic places that were hard to get to and usually had forces protecting them.

"What is that idiot saying? You sound as if you are new to magic. Even kids don't ask questions like these."

Selene, one of the other participants, laughed as she heard Liam's question. It became evident to him that he had asked an obvious question that he should not have.

But Selene's laugh did not answer Liam's question. It only served to confuse him more.

Thankfully, their guide was much more accommodating, and he ignored the trio snickering at Liam before answering him.
