Silence followed that declaration but Asger groaned.

Asger groaned internally. 

"Oh great, it's a cult. I knew this was a bad idea."

Liam, meanwhile, was growing more suspicious by the second. Something about this did feel like a pyramid scheme.

But his curiosity was stronger.

"Fine." 

Liam said, folding his arms. 

"I'll do it."

Ethan looked relieved.

Zane clapped a hand on Liam's shoulder. 

"That's the spirit."

Ethan reached into his pocket and pulled out a single, ordinary-looking green leaf. 

"Then let's start simple. Take this leaf and drain its magic."

Liam stared at the leaf.

That was it?

"That's the trial?"

He asked, feeling somewhat underwhelmed.

Ethan nodded.

"It's a skill only we can do. If you truly belong with us, it should come naturally."
