Teaching my girls.

Lucia and I woke up early. We got ready and left the house, returning to my new home; she smiled as she held my hand as I drove. Moments like this make those long years in the other place worth every moment. As we pulled up and got out, my girls were home, even Mayra, as her husband was still overseas, and she wanted to not be alone in her house as I entered. "Everyone, this is Lucia, and she will be with us from now on. I plan to have her live if she desires to." I finished saying as she smiled and nodded. With her living here will make things more manageable now.

"Ladies, I am going to teach you about magic. So meet me in the living room when everyone is ready, and we will start." I let the girls start to talk to Lucia as I walked to the living room and moved the sofas and chairs around. Making the area into a crescent moon shape as I grabbed a knife, cut my hand, and took the blood as I started to put a magic circle on the ground. The women walked in and looked at me worried as I smiled, "Don't worry, blood loss isn't a thing that can affect someone of my caliber, but thank you for worrying about me. You all can have a seat and wait a minute." I said, finishing up the circle.

"What are you doing?" My mother asked with worry and interest. I smiled and started to speak as I got 1/4 done with it. "This magic circle will tell me which element you ladies are closer to lined with as it's better to teach you something you all can learn better than trying to struggle with your harder elements. Everyone can learn all elemental or non-elemental magic; the problem is how fast or how much you struggle with it depends on the magic circuits in your body as those feed magic. If the flow is less than desired, it's harder to cast but not impossible if you can understand their faults." I said while working on another part.

"What are the element and non-elemental magic?" Harper asked as she had a notepad, and I smiled. Harper did always like to learn. "Everyone has at least one basic element or non-elemental magic that they can use to a good standard. It's not like those web novels where you have crappy talent, as everyone has talent. It's only if you can understand your talent, as those are the fundamental laws of nature. The basic elements are Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Light, and Darkness. Non-elements are healing, time, and space. No matter what, everyone can use these; how good you will be able to use them depends on your circuits, but everyone will have at least one they are good at. More advanced elements like Lightning, nature, ice, lava, and more exist." I said, finishing the circle.

"Is there a level system to magic?" This time, it was Scarlett who asked, and I smiled. "Leveling system or ranking? Well, if I had to say, it's more about how much mana you have over what magic you can use. As a spell, strength depends on how much mana you feed; mana increases when you use it to the point you empty, and when you recover it, your mana pool expands. Mana pool expanding is the same for everyone, so you will only get stronger if you practice more. I made my ranking depending on the size of your pool—apprentice, beginner, Mage, ArchMage, Sage, Mage Emporer, and God Mage. Suppose we are going off my ranking. A Fireball at the God Mage class would destroy any magic from a lower class, so it's best to focus on building your mana pool over learning a crazy amount of spells initially." I finished saying.

"Now, who's to be first to find out which elemental or non-elemental magic suits them best," I said, standing there as my mother stood up and spoke. "What do I need to do?" I kissed her and then spoke. "All you need to do is stand in the middle and think of a ball in the center of your stomach pulsating in all directions. Once you do that, the circle will light up, and I can tell what magic you can learn the best." I finished as she walked into the circle's center and focused on her stomach with a ball shape in her mind as the minutes passed. The circle finally starts to light you; it's a pale green glow, and I smile. My mother was sweating, and after a minute of keeping the circle lit, she stopped and almost fell as I held her.

"So, what can I learn?" She asked in a tired voice as I spoke. "Your talent is healing magic; it fits your kind nature pretty well, and I will write out a few spells for injuries and sicknesses. With this, you could make money or do good if you want to, Mother, but you will have to wait until I get a hold of this city. So you will have time to learn and practice, she smiled and then spoke. "Will this help you?" she asked, making me move closer and hug her. "Mother, you always help me out. Healing magic can even help with mental problems, so I plan to have you heal those affected by those kinds of failed humans." I said, caressing her face. She was happy with this as she was tired from the ritual of sorts.

"I want to be next!" Harper jumped up and smiled as she, too, wanted to be helpful to her brother. She stepped into the circle and started to focus. As the circle lit up, everything started to slow down, telling me just what her non-elemental magic was. Very few people have a good talent for that style of magic, but for her to have it will help her out, as even at the beginning of practices, you can slow down your surroundings. So match that people will think you are moving at super speed. Of course, when you combine time and space, you can teleport. Everything started to return to normal for everyone else. They didn't notice it, but I could as someone with a higher ranking.

"What do I have brother?" She looked confused as she didn't notice it and was worried she failed as I picked her up, smiling. "You have time magic; I will let you know time and space are the lowest talent magic as those are hard to do. To be able to have talent in one is very good." I said as I held her up in the air and kissed her, making her wrap her arms around me, returning the kiss as we parted after a few minutes.

Scarlett stood up and stepped into the circle. Sparks started to shoot out of the circle as she focused, and she had to take a step back and look at me. "An advanced element, Lightning. I see my women are amazing, after all." I smiled, making her happy as she ran over to Mother and Harper, hugging them. She wasn't tired, and I knew why: her talent for Lightning was higher than usual. She will have an easier time using her magic than the other two; it's not like they fall behind much. Mother has the slowest time out of the three of them but is also older. With me, she won't be behind the girls at all.

Mayra was next as the circle started to shine and heat up. As I watched, I told her to stop. "Stop, Mayra!" She cut the connection to the ball. Looking at me worried as I quickly cooled down the flow with water and ice magic. "Did I do something wrong, dear?" She was afraid to let me down, so I shook my head. "No, it's just your magic, an advanced element. It's lava." She looked happy, as if she was talented at it. Rejoing the others, it was Lucia's turn. She worried she wouldn't get an advance one, and I chuckled.

"What's so funny?" she asked, looking at me with a hint of anger. I sighed. You don't need to worry; even I had a basic element. "It's not the element that matters. How fast you can use your magic and how big your mana pool is matters. People think being special is amazing, but no one is special. No one has a head start on life just being who they are. Everything comes from work, be it yourself or what your family had worked hard to give you. There is no "Son of Heaven or the like." That's just stupid novel speak, as work is the number one thing. Everything else is second." I said, making her smile as she clutched her fist and stood in the circle. The room was covered in bright light within a minute, and I smiled.

It died down, and she spoke, "What was it?" She asked, a little worried as I spoke. "I told you my talent was a basic element, right?" She nodded. "I have the best talent in dark elements, and I am kind of happy you have the Light element, my opposite," I said, making her smile as she came over and hugged me. "What can Light magic do?" She asked. "It can create illusions and attack and has some minor healing abilities, but for the most part, illusions and attack magic are the forta.

"I will write down a good way for you girls to learn to use your magic. Enjoy getting to know Lucia; we can meet in about four hours." I said as I left.
