As he was questioned like this, Aleckin eyed Margaret emotionlessly. The woman had seen it already, so he believed she need not bring it up.
He hates explaining himself to someone insignificant in his life. Whether he dated or was intimate with someone is not her business.
He tolerated Margaret only because the Adlers and Ferreros were longtime friends and business partners, benefiting both families.
Even so, she must not assume they were very close and could speak her mind to him. Whatever the relationship between the two patriarchs, it does not mean it is the same with their grandchildren.
But Margaret's actions invade his privacy, and she is oblivious that his patience with her is wearing thin.
Margaret is one of those women he doesn't want to deal with. Although he was against his arranged marriage to Yelena, he actually took advantage of it for his own good.
He admitted that many times, it became his shield. He could quickly dismiss all marriage proposals thrown at his face by those inferior entrepreneurs who wanted to use him to elevate their status and take advantage of his influence.
He has recently realized that his arranged marriage has dramatically helped him and has actually given him peace of mind.
But since he and Yelena don't share any feelings, they should separate in goodwill and find love with someone else.
'Once I locate Yelena, I will compensate her more. I will purchase him a new house with a better water system.'
This is to avoid burning the house down. He mused further,
'I should arrange a yearly vacation for her, too.'
In this way, his grandfather would not complain when the day arrived, and he accepted the divorce.
'And if she wants to remarry, I will gift her and his new husband something… Maybe a honeymoon package… So, maybe it's best to introduce her to some good men I know.'
He had several reliable subordinates who held higher positions in his companies. He also has competitive directors he assigned to their subsidiary companies. They earned well, so he was sure Yelena could live a good life.
If none of them she would like, he also knew a few outstanding business partners. Although their company may be inferior to the Ferrero empire, their liability has already been tested.
However, the biggest question remains.
Where is Yelena?
"Aleckin, do you hear me?" Margaret flicks her thumb and index fingers in front of his face.
"What are you doing, Margaret?" What she did made him irate. He pursed his lips, concealing his annoyance toward her for cutting off his thoughts.
What he hated most was a nosy person.
"I just wanted to ask you a question," she explained hurriedly.
"What is it then?"
Margaret was taken aback when Aleckin replied indifferently. She isn't simple-minded not to sense his irritation. She's been hovering around him since they were young. Hence, despite his indifferent treatment toward her, she didn't distance herself but showed she was genuinely concerned about him.
"I just got worried when I saw the gush on your face. Does it hurt?" Margaret stretched her arm and was about to touch his side face when he jerked his head toward her.
"Margaret, you need not concern yourself with me," he said coldly.
Margaret's face soured when Aleckin dismissively answered her. That was his warning not to bother him anymore.
If she forced herself on the guy, there was a chance he would totally shun her away. She could only step back and humble herself.
"I'm sorry, Aleckin. I didn't mean to put my nose in your business. I'm just worried about you." Margaret lowered her head to hide the irritation in her eyes. At first glance, she appeared timid, but no one knew of her heart.
Aleckin' was too hard to get. She should not waste her precious time on him when countless suitors are ready to kneel before her and kiss her feet.
But the power and wealth Aleckin will inherit from Aleksandr can make her a queen in the world.
Although it may not be as affluent as Hailee Davies, through Aleckin, she can be in line with her circle of wealthy friends.
Aleckin didn't want to deal with Margaret anymore. Her facade is getting transparent. He walked to the operating room door and pulled out his phone to message someone.
Finally, after another hour, the operation room door opened, and Rolan emerged from the inner room.
"Rolan, how's Grandpa Alek?"
Before Aleckin could speak, Margaret rushed to Rolan and inquired.
Rolan raised an eyebrow at Aleckin, shook his head, and said, "Aleckin, I will transfer Grandpa Alek to the ICU for his recovery. You can move him to the ward after you bring someone to watch him over."
"I can take care of Grandpa Alek." Margaret volunteered.
However, Rolan seemed not to hear her. He did not even spare her a glance.
"Aleckin, you should pick up your wife before it's too late. You know this is what can make Grandpa Alek happy. I advise you not to visit him without your wife. Or else you'd trigger him again, and he'd have another attack."
After Rolan said this, he returned to the operating room as if Aleckin were the only person present.
Margaret gritted her teeth, being ignored like this. She would never speak to Rolan if he weren't from a prominent family. However, the Gibsons are known for their greatness in the medical field.

Aleksandr was moved to the ICU on the top floor, and Aleckin dropped by before returning to the mansion to rest.
He must devise a plan to find out where Yelena is. Fortunately, he has found the perfect target: Rebecca.
He needs to get close to her so that she will warm up to him. His big problems are those men.
They were like Rebecca's loyal Knights.
"Margaret, you should have gone home now. There's nothing we can do here," he announced after he noticed that Margaret was still tailing him.
He had enough of her presence.
"I understand, but how about we grab something before we head home? I heard Zoren, Rolan, and Harriet were dining in the cafeteria."
The cafeteria in this hospital is comparable to a high-class restaurant, so many people stay to dine there.
"Alright." Aleckin didn't want to speak another word. He agreed immediately.
Margaret, on the other hand, was over the moon when Aleckin didn't turn her down.
'I know he is indifferent to me, but the truth is he cannot have the heart to ignore me completely!'
Aleckin and Margaret followed the hallway toward the elevator lobby when the former caught a familiar silhouette from the corner.
"Margaret, you head first. I need to make a phone call."
Still living in her delusions, Margaret nodded with a smile. "All right. I'll order your favorite steak and salad."
"Great." Aleckin flashes a smile.
Margaret's heart danced with delight, overlooking that his smile barely reached his eyes.
After Margaret entered the elevator, Aleckin's face turned solemn. The glint in his eyes is replaced with danger.
He turned around and headed to the hallway, where he saw Simon step out at one of the VIP wards.
Aleckin found most of the wards empty. He understood this because Dream City didn't have permanent residents yet, only the Davies Group executives and their employees and, for the time being, hundreds of workers from different construction firms.
"REBECCA HENSON"
When he read the name on the door, a smile appeared on his lips.
He knocked, and he heard a cheerful and sweet voice from inside.
"Come in!"
Many women attempt to talk to him in a coy voice, but all of them are unpleasant and only give him a headache. However, Rebecca's voice sounds pleasant to his ears, as if she were talking to his soul.
On the other side of the door…
