The Magic Theory Debate

Yuanjiu walked over and, rejecting Wu Zhenyu's help, struggled to climb onto the chair that was too high for her.

Wu Zhenyu sat there in an extremely lazy posture, resting his head in his hand, grinning.

When Wu Zhenyu's classmates saw Yuanjiu, they were all surprised. "Wu Zhenyu, I know her! She's the one who performed the most unexpectedly in the last grade-skipping test, Long Xiaojiu."

"I've also seen that match; many people secretly called her 'Little Princess.'"

A few people gathered around, chattering.

Wu Zhenyu squinted his eyes in surprise, smiling. "Aha, so the person I know is actually a little celebrity."

He immediately straightened up, a little proud, and said to Yuanjiu, "Xiaojiu, are you here to find me? Whatever you need, I can help, mm-hmm."

His expression was as if his classmates were praising him instead.

Yuanjiu quietly replied, "I'm here to attend the class."

Her classmates stifled their laughter, covering their mouths.

Wu Zhenyu feigned disappointment: "So you're not here to find me, huh? Xiaojiu, if you like magic so much, why didn't you join the College of Magic?"

In the blink of an eye, he slumped onto the desk, as if he had no bones.

Yuanjiu lowered her head. "Hmm, I don't have magical talent."

This was the first time she had lied.

Wu Zhenyu was taken aback, thinking that she was upset.

After a moment, he patted his chest and said, "It's alright. Hard work can make up for lack of talent. I will lend you my notes."

Yuanjiu took the notes indifferently, flipping through a few pages.

She suddenly asked, "Can only one type of magic attribute be used at a time?"

Wu Zhenyu found this a bit amusing. "Of course, because people only have one mouth, they can only speak one language of magic."

Yuanjiu responded with surprise, "I've seen someone use Water-type magic with their left hand and Fire-type magic with their right hand at the same time."

Xiaoding nestled in her arms, whispered to her: "Xiaojiu, are you talking about yourself? Hehe."

Yuanjiu replied through her thoughts: "You too, Xiaoding."

That was something Yuanjiu had taught Xiaoding after figuring it out herself, and it took Xiaoding over a year to master it.

The people surrounding them looked on in disbelief.

Wu Zhenyu asked curiously, "How did you do that?"

Yuanjiu closed the notes and replied: "The purpose of speaking the magic language is to summon the magic elements, but if someone can truly control the magic elements, there's no reason why you need to use magic language first. By using mental control you can make the speed faster, and if you try to minimize the time lag, it becomes possible."

"This kind of explanation has never been heard before... how did you come up with such an idea?" Wu Zhenyu felt like he was beginning to understand something but asked in confusion.

Yuanjiu shrugged it off, "Just overthinking after reading too many books," as she picked up Xiaoding and slid off her chair. "Your notes don't have anything useful. I'm leaving now."

"Wait!" A voice suddenly shouted angrily from behind the crowd.

The people quickly scattered, returning to their seats.

Wu Zhenyu secretly stuck out his tongue: It's over, Yuanjiu's words must have been heard by his teacher.

An elderly man who is looking vigorous and full of anger, walked over with his hands behind his back, glaring at Yuanjiu from a height.

He was Xie Changqi, the teacher of the College of Magic's elite class, and the academy's most prestigious teacher.

It was said that the former emperor had personally praised him, making him a truly remarkable figure.

Today, just like any other day, he entered the classroom with his hands behind his back.

However, as soon as he stepped in, he overheard someone criticizing his teaching achievements.

How could he not be angry?

"Were you the one who just said that my teachings are useless? Little brat, how old are you to look down on the results of my decades of research? How dare you disregard over a thousand years of magic theory?"

Wu Zhenyu quickly stood up and said, "Teacher, of course, no one would dare question your authority. Xiaojiu is just being reckless and saying things without thinking. Please don't take it to heart."

The elderly man snorted, "Of course, I won't argue with a little brat. Is he your sister? Tell her to leave immediately. We're about to start class."

Although he was angry, he wasn't going to take the childish behavior of a little kid seriously.

Xiaoding angrily nudged Yuanjiu. "Xiaojiu, he called you a little brat!"

Yuanjiu said, puzzled, "I didn't look down on you, I just said your teachings have some mistakes."

The elderly man fumed, puffing out his cheeks and glaring at her. "You, you! Fine, tell me then, where did I go wrong?"

Yuanjiu hesitated, then said, "Grandpa, let's change the place. My Daddy said that when pointing out someone's mistakes, it's best not to do it in front of everyone, to give them some face. If the person is unimportant, there's no need to consider their feelings."

She thought to herself that this teacher shouldn't be considered "unimportant."

The students in the classroom couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Wu Zhenyu rubbed his head in frustration.

Hadn't her dad told her that saying something so direct in front of others was already disrespectful?

Xie Changqi's chest heaved violently with anger, and he gritted his teeth as he said, "You! Follow me!"

Yuanjiu indifferently followed him, entering a nearby lounge and closing the door.

"You little brat, explain yourself. If you don't clarify, I'll make sure you never advance in your studies," Xie Changqi said, deliberately trying to scare her.

In reality, seeing how cute Yuanjiu was, he couldn't bring himself to really scold her.

He just decided to humor her, letting her play around.

Yuanjiu nodded. "It's the same point I made earlier—Grandpa's theory is based on the premise that 'only one type of magic can be used at a time.' However, in fact, two types of magic can be used together. My magical pet, Xiaoding, can do this."
