My pace slowed.

Despite knowing his true nature, after all this time, it still left me feeling nauseated, as if I'd consumed something vile.

Samuel, at my side, offered a reassuring smile and touched my head softly. He then passed me his timepiece before approaching Cole.

In an instant, he struck Cole's face with such force that it dislocated his jaw.

I was left speechless.

Later, in the vehicle, Samuel kept his eyes on me.

After some contemplation, I inhaled deeply and spoke, "I appreciate your actions earlier. What he said is accurate. I was involved with him for a decade and even terminated a pregnancy. If this bothers you, we can call off the wedding, and my family will cover any expenses."

After all, the Harper family, being the most affluent in Arham City, likely valued their image highly.

However, Samuel surprised me with a soft chuckle and held my hand firmly.
