Chapter 11

As time progressed, Lucas Ryan resumed his duties at the hospital.

Life seemed to return to its usual rhythm—except for the undeniable fact that I was no longer among the living.

I frequently found myself in the hospital's compact garden, deep in contemplation, puzzled by my inability to part from Lucas Ryan's presence.

Before long, the day arrived for Evelyn Snow to be released from the hospital.

As her primary doctor, Lucas was summoned to the sixteenth floor to conduct her final examination.

I accompanied him into the room, where we were met by the sight of Evelyn, impeccably dressed. Without her hospital attire, she appeared to be in perfect health.

"You've arrived?" she remarked casually, flashing Lucas a radiant grin. "At last, I can bid farewell to this place."

"I won't have to fret about any health issues anymore," she added, chuckling lightly as she touched her chest.

Lucas remained silent. He quietly approached and began the standard discharge assessment procedures.
