His island which he bought four years back, was purchased from a prominent historian who once researched the island he stated that he had reason to believe that this island was once a precious historical piece, though, after countless years of fruitless research, he discovered nothing, all proof pointing towards the fact it was just a normal regular island.
Immediately the historian went out of funds Jayde offered to purchase the island, which was how he came into possession of the island. Back then he remembered then he remembered feeling smug on how cheap he bought it, and how easy it was, but now…..
Jayde slammed his palm unto his face, standing up weakly, he told Elior, "Wait here I'll be back in a moment" following which he vanished into a shadowy mist.
He moved through the shadows, and quickly he appeared a the shore of the island, he stood there gazing at the vast expanse of the ocean, and he sighed "Let's pray I'm wrong" Leaving the statement he took a deep breath and dived into the ocean, he swam downwards continuously, unlike other islands whose shore had shallow waters his was different, it led straight down into the almost bottomless abyss of the ocean, he had always found this unique phenomenon strange but he never gave it too much of a thought.
The more he went deeper the pressure on his body increased, he continued until he reached the limit his enhanced body could take, and he stopped steeling himself he used his shadow sense on the island and what he sensed, put an ugly expression on his face.
Running out of air he made his way back to the surface of the ocean, a few seconds later he resurfaced went back to his island and collapsed in the sheer fatigue his revelation placed him under.
His mind recalled a distant memory, back then when he was young there was a day his aunt took him and his friends to the beach for his birthday, while he and his friend were having fun they encountered a lady who called herself a shaman, she told them a lot of stories and taught them about spirit animals, hearing all humans had spirit animals they all got excited and asked her to check theirs.
She checked them one by one when it was his turn she said that he was a turtle, he remembered being disappointed and asking her if she could change it to something cool like a shark or a swordfish, but she told him that spirit animals weren't things that could be changed, noticing his displeasure she consoled him telling him that turtles weren't bad, that one of the strongest creatures of the sea was a turtle.
The Aspidochelone she called it, the colossal island turtle a magnificent beast that ruled the sea. She even went a step further saying she could sense he had a great karma with turtles back then he just dismissed it thinking she was just trying to cheer him up, but now...
He sighed dejectedly his palm over his face, karma indeed After all how do you explain him buying an island only to discover it was a TURTLE! Yes, the so-called sailing island of the nine wonders, was the very island that Jayde owned, to think in this life of his he was encountering such calamity after calamity, no wonder he arrived at the island later than expected, it was because it was moving through very slowly it was moving non the less.
But thinking back to the information he got when he went to the bottom of the ocean, his eyes shone yes there was still hope if they could leave before the abomination awoke then there shouldn't be a problem. Back when he was in the ocean through his shadow sense he cast inspection and what he saw?
[Aspidochelone (dormant)]
[Talent: Guardian of balance (SSS+)]
[physical: 5th circle]
[mental: 5th circle]
Seeing such stats one could understand jaydes emotions, such a beast was nothing short of terrifying, even in Jayde's previous life he had only progressed his talent to the B grade, so seeing such a beast that was supposedly sleeping since the start of the sequence and still had such a powerful talent went in length to show how powerful the ancient beasts were.
Thinking back since the beginning of the sequence he had encountered these ancients more frequently than usual, which was a given since he was on the sea, before his regression it was a known fact that the sea was a danger zone where the possibility of survival was very slim.
And now with all he had seen he had a good idea why, good thing he had various properties he could take his aunt and subordinates to one of his properties in the USA at least there he had some connections with the government he could continue his growth without hindrance then when he was strong enough-.
Jaydes thoughts came to a sudden halt as a distant memory came to mind, he was on the ground in defeat and all that was going through his head was why? Why did he lose he wasn't inferior in any way to the bastard, as though reading his mind the silhouette standing in front of him said "You are strong Jayde Bane, terrifyingly so, but you can never defeat me you know why?" the figure paused as he gazed at Jayde "it's simple, Jayde bane you might have ambition but you don't have the will" after leaving that statement he walked away leaving Jayde to dwell on his words.
Back then jayde didn't understand those words he didn't have a will? How! he was one of the most willful person on earth, he had always strived to be the best, he dismissed the speech number one gave him as random ramblings of a man with an inflated ego.
But now that he remembered those words it clicked, why was he scared, why did he have to run? If anything if he ran now the gap between him and these ancient bastards will only get wider, he didn't have a will, what was will? People often make the mistake of thinking that a will was simply the determination to make things happen, he also made such a mistake in his past life. He had the goals he had the ambition but what did he do still? He became a dog, one that was given scraps one that was suppressed, back then he culled his pride and took everything the government did to him always thinking that when he was number one things would change, even in his final moments he restrained on going all out scared, wanting to eat his cake and have it, and it cost him his life.
What was a will? Once more that question appeared in his mind a will wasn't just a determination to accomplish a goal, a will was the power to make your goals and visions a reality!, the power to shape the world in your image!
Jaydes eyes shone, as he felt as though countless shackles binding his soul broke, as his mental intent surged. Who was he? He was Jayde Bane, not humanity's strongest no he won't settle for such a weak title No! He would be EARTHS's Strongest! The Minoans? the nine wonders? Let them come, he wasn't going to run, he wasn't going to hide, he'll wait here if one comes he'll kill one if ten comes he'll kill ten, even if they were thousands they would all fall by his blade, nothing and no one will stop him from reaching his goals.
Looking at the choice he was given by the system he quickly accepted, so what if he couldn't get another comprehension for now, it just meant he'd have to comprehend the entirety of shadow quickly. From now on he wasn't going to run anymore, he wasn't going to restrain himself he Jayde Bane would reach the peak.
A smile spread on his face as his mental intent surged the pentagon-shaped rune appeared once more but it didn't multiply, it only grew bigger and more realistic as it stood majestically in the air behind Jayde radiating a suppressive might. Following this a notification popped up.
