Heaven Dou City lies to the north of the Balak Kingdom. To reach it, one must take a detour eastward, making the total journey over 2,000 kilometers.
Even with the physique of a soul master, it would take several days to arrive at their destination.
"Kids, we'll be on the road for the next few days—stay sharp!" After traveling a certain distance, Flender suddenly picked up the pace and called out loudly.
"I don't get it. The dean seemed so down when we left, but now his mood has improved so much," Ning Rongrong muttered, pouting as she followed behind.
"Maybe two months was enough time for him to move on," Tang San said with a smile.
"Looks like I'm not going fast enough." Flender glanced at the group, the corners of his lips curling up slightly. "If you can't keep up and fall behind, I won't wait for you!"
With that, he sped up, and the teachers—who had higher sout power—quickly followed suit. Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang had someone accompanying him.
Just then, a strange noise reached Flender's ears, making him turn his head in curiosity.
What he saw left him dumbfounded.
Xiao Tianyang was riding atop a massive steel beast, chasing after them at full speed!
"What the hell is that, kid?!" Zhao Wuji's eyes widened in disbelief.
Matching Flender and the others' pace, Xiao Tianyang grinned and said, "This is a soul tool. Can't you tell?"
"Of course, I can see it! But what kind of soul tool is that?" Zhao Wuji huffed. "I've seen thousands of soul tools in my time, but never one like this!"
"I don't know either. Maybe you should ask my teacher?" Xiao Tianyang smirked.
The mention of that person made Zhao Wuji shudder.
"Never mind! Forget I asked—let's keep moving!" Zhao Wuji quickly waved his hands, wanting nothing more than to send this troublemaker ahead.
"Then, teachers, I'll be going on ahead." Xiao Tianyang adjusted his sunglasses, accelerated, and vanished into the distance, leaving behind only a trail of dust.
"That's cheating!" Ma Hongjun shouted in protest. "Teacher, aren't you going to do something about this?"
"You're the only one who dares complain right now!"
Flender turned back and glared at him. "If you worked even half as hard as he does, I'd be much more at ease!"
At that moment, Oscar spoke up. "Dean, what exactly is Tianyang riding? How is it so fast?"
"Ahem... You can ask him yourself later," Flender coughed awkwardly before quickly turning away.
"Damn it, even Tianyang won't help me out," Ning Rongrong muttered as she ran, her face slightly flushed.
"If he gave you a ride, we wouldn't be able to leave," Zhu Zhuqing said calmly.
"Why not?" Ning Rongrong asked in confusion.
Xiao Wu giggled. "Brother Tianyang's physique is much stronger than ours. We still need to train, but he's already surpassed that stage. Why do you think that is?"
"Then why doesn't he just bring out some soul tool for us?" Ning Rongrong complained. "At least that would make us twice as fast!"
"No idea," Xiao Wu shrugged.
As they continued their journey, running and resting intermittently, Xiao Tianyang would occasionally stop and wait for them. Thanks to this pace, they reached the Silvis Kingdom the next day.
Upon arriving in the capital, Flender led everyone to a grand meal at a luxurious hotel. However, after being spoiled by Xiao Tianyang's cooking, the Shrek Seven Devils and Saber found that ordinary dishes no longer satisfied them.
After their meal, Yu Xiaogang arranged for them to participate in a team battle at the city's Great Spirit Arena.
Naturally, everyone was eager for a match. It had been too long since their last fight, and they were itching for action.
However, when they arrived at the arena's front desk, the supervisor could only shake his head. "I'm sorry, but there are no suitable opponents for your team in this city."
Tang San and the others were stunned.
As a Gold Spirit Fighting Team composed entirely of Soul Masters, they were one of the strongest teams around. Not just in this city—teams of their caliber were rare across the entire kingdom.
So while the news surprised them, it also made sense.
But Yu Xiaogang wasn't ready to give up just yet. "Is there any way to work around this?" he asked.
The supervisor frowned in thought before answering, "There is one option—a challenge match."
"This means that your Soul Master-level team would have to challenge a team of Soul Ancestor, but I wouldn't recommend it..."
"That works," Yu Xiaogang interrupted, making the decision on the spot.
"Xiaogang, what are you planning?" Flender looked shocked. Clearly, Yu Xiaogang hadn't consulted him before making this choice.
Yu Xiaogang, however, didn't explain. Instead, he turned to the supervisor and asked, "Are there any teams here that are known for their brutality? Teams that injure or even kill their opponents in matches?"
At this, not only Flender but also the supervisor was taken aback.
Was this seemingly mild-mannered man trying to get these kids killed?
Nonetheless, the supervisor was a professional. He quickly collected himself and nodded. "Yes, there are two such teams."
"The first is the Fierce God Team. Their lowest member is a Level 42 Soul Ancestor. They have a reputation for being ruthless, often breaking their opponents' limbs—or worse. Their methods are cruel."
"The second is the God-Slaying Team. Their members all have soul power at Level 49. Unlike the Fierce God Team, they don't just cripple their opponents—they kill. They never leave survivors."
"Interestingly, both teams were founded by two brothers."
The supervisor's explanation was thorough—perhaps a bit too thorough.
"Alright. We'll take on the Fierce God Team," Yu Xiaogang decided.
Since the other party was so insistent, the supervisor could only nod and begin making arrangements.
"Xiaogang, are you out of your mind?" Flender stepped forward, blocking Yu Xiaogang's path. "Isn't this too dangerous for them right now?"
"Is there any place in the soul master world that isn't dangerous?" Yu Xiaogang countered calmly. "They need to go through this trial. Flowers raised in a greenhouse can't withstand the storms of the outside world—you, of all people, should understand that."
Ning Rongrong hesitated. "Grandmaster, should Tianyang be fighting with us?"
"No, I have other plans for him," Yu Xiaogang said firmly.
After a pause, he added, "But this time, I won't restrict any of your tactics—including what Tang San gives you."
He then turned to Xiao Tianyang and Saber. "You two, come with me."
With that, Dai Mubai led the others away, discussing their strategy.
Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang took Xiao Tianyang and Saber to a secluded corner.
"Saber, this is your opponent." Yu Xiaogang handed over a document. "You can decide whether to sign up or not—I won't force you."
Xiao Tianyang blinked in confusion.
Wait a minute—wasn't he supposed to force us to fight?
