A Dream and a Letter

 Chapter 34: A Dream and a Letter

"Chen Xui, Chen Xui!" Princess Hua called. Chen Xui finally woke up. She realized she was in her underwear.

"Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be kissing Master Wei?" Chen Xui asked, surprised.

"Are you okay? You are sweating," Princess Hua said, concern on her face. She touched Chen Xui's head to check if she was alright.

"Princess, I had a dream," Chen Xui said, her voice still sleepy.

"A bad dream?" Princess Hua asked, eager to hear more.

Chen Xui nodded. "Then what was it about?" Princess Hua asked.

"I confessed my love to Guard Bao," Chen Xui said.

"You mean, you... confessed your love to Bao in your dream?" Princess Hua asked, shocked. Chen Xui nodded again.

"Why would you do that? You even loved him in the dream. Did he accept or reject?" Princess Hua asked.

Chen Xui took a deep breath. "He rejected me," she replied, disappointment in her voice.

"How dare he reject you in a dream! Who does he think he is?" Princess Hua yelled. Chen Xui held Princess Hua's hand and nodded. She knew he was in love with Lady Mei. This calmed Princess Hua down.

"Princess, are you okay after the meal with the Wang family yesterday?" Chen Xui asked.

"Yes, I am. I just wish to get the secret door manual so we can leave," she replied.

"Oh," Chen Xui said.

"Princess! Princess!" A servant rushed in.

"What's wrong?" Princess Hua asked.

"A letter from the palace," the maid said, handing a letter to the princess.

"Come to the palace immediately. Consort Ai is sick," the letter said.

"Muqui," Princess Hua said as she stood up. "Dress me quickly! We have to go to the palace now."

"Princess, is everything okay?" Chen Xui asked.

Princess Hua nodded. She quickly changed into an outfit. On her way to the carriage, she saw Wang Mei, who was also heading to her carriage.

"Princess, where are you going this early?" Wang Mei asked. Princess Hua smiled.

"I should ask you the same question, but I don't have time for this," Princess Hua replied.

"Princess!" A voice came from afar. It was Wang Haoyu.

"Why is he here?" Princess Hua murmured.

The servants bowed to him. "Thank you for yesterday's feast. I enjoyed the wine brewed by the palace head chef. I never thought I would taste that until my death," Haoyu said, but his words were too long for Princess Hua.

"Are you going somewhere? Even Wang Mei?" Haoyu asked.

"As you can see, I am going somewhere. We will talk later, young master," Princess Hua said. As she turned to leave, Haoyu tried to touch her, but Bao appeared from nowhere held his hand to stop him.

"How dare you touch my hand, you ordinary guard!" Haoyu said, flinging Bao's hand away and spitting on the floor.

"And how dare you touch my wife," Wang Wei said, his voice cold as ever.

"i hate you and your master." Haoyu said

"Brother," Wang Mei said.

"Princess, where are you going?" Wang Wei asked.

"I received a message from the palace that my mom is sick," Princess Hua replied.

"What about you?" Wang Wei asked, shifting his gaze to Wang Mei.

"I also received a message from the palace that the emperor wants me to sing for him because he is having sleepless nights and all the palace entertainers are useless," Wang Mei replied.

"You can go," Wang Wei said, pointing to Wang Mei.

"And you, I don't want to see you with my wife," he warned Haoyu.

Haoyu left angrily.

"I will be a bad in-law to people if you leave without me. I have to see my in-law even if we are on contract," Wang Wei said.

"Thank you," Princess Hua replied.

"I am doing all this because tomorrow is the first month of our agreement, princess" Wang Wei said.
