The gods piss on the residence of Pyrrhus with rain of fire and fire-lit clouds, volcans fill the sky assisting the clouds to block out the moonlight. A small volcan falls into the compound and close to a young boy playing around the ludus, the child screams as the burning bird runs toward him.
Above, Memnuh, a whirlwind of fury, leaps from the balcony, twin axes gleaming in his grip. He crashes down upon the volcan's neck, a relentless storm of steel. One axe rises, then descends, again and again, tearing into the fiery flesh, each strike a crimson testament to his fury.
The volcan, finally succumbing, spews a torrent of molten blood, its reign extinguished.
"Raise the shields, raise the shields" he commandss and The Sith begin to take various position around the compound. Flaming pebbles begin to fall into the compound, bruising and burn all those outside the protection of a roof.
The gladiators rejoice in their cells, "May the gods burn down this place," one of them screams and he receives a thunderous chorus of applaud; a useless gesture Kane thinks. It's been a month since he came to this world and he has noticed some changes since he accepted his new identity. He feels awfully disconnected, his mind wonders but his heart does not connect. Like a piece of his soul is missing.
Embers beautify the skies as it rains terror in Pyrrhus. The Sith use their magic to erect a forcefield around Grimstone to prevent any further damage. Curtains which have gone ablaze are put off, the worst of the situation seem to pass.
Braga arrives in front of Kane's cell, "Dog," "Braga,". Kane watches calmly as the champion makes his way in, "I saw you disappear during the last attack. You have magic in you. How else do you explain such feat?" "I don't know what you are talking about," Kane says.
Braga, a whirlwind of rage, seizes Kane by the throat and slams him against the unforgiving wall, "Six years I have been champion, …" he snarls, spittle flecking his lips, "…yet it is forgotten that I am still a slave. I've bathed the arena in blood for their amusement, and for what?", he says.
Kane, gasping for air, frantically signals his surrender before the towering giant releases his suffocating grip.
"Do you know what happened to the last champion? I saw him get decapitated in The Sunken Kingdom, in the arena. Now tell me what the hell was he fighting for all that time? I am not going out like that, you will help me escape" Braga says, he places his hands on Kane's shoulders and shakes him like bug spray.
"Look, you don't know what you saw." The moment those words leave his mouth, Braga's fist smashes the wall behind Kane, "Don't do this, Kane" "I can't help you," Kane says.
He really can't, he doesn't understand what is going on with him yet. Braga bends his head, he paces and shakes his head, he turns sharply at Kane with the figure of a wild beast. His eyes stay focused on the blue eyed boy, "I will kill you, dog", Braga takes a step forward but halts, "Hey. Get back to your cell, no boy love tonight" one of the guards says as he stands at the exit.
"I will be seeing you later," Braga says and leaves.
ELSEWHERE
Zarek floats in midair while holding a book. He is in a library with shelves that reach forty feet high, the woods are thick and clean, laced with oils to maintain their smoothen glow. He casts a little shadow on the ground as cape goes back and forth under a little influence of the wind.
A portal opens, Anarchy and Malice walks through, they give a short bow, "My…" "Anarchy, haven't you wondered how we were able to open a portal to the hidden realm of Nimwei," Zarek says as he drops the book and searches amongst the others.
Anarchy glances at Malice behind him before turning to face Zarek, "I assumed it was by your power alone," "Unfortunately, not even I can open a portal to Nimwei, more so it's hidden realm.
I expected the spell and sigils to fail. No sorcerer has ever been able to open a portal to Nimwei until now," Zarek says.
"What does that mean?" Anarchy's eyes follow his master to another shelf where he floats higher to go through some more books.
"It was the sky's weakest point, the day when the stars of the stranger align.", he says and returns another set of books, he floats further left to continue his search.
"Master, I do not carry or understand your wisdom," "It is the day the sky gives birth to one of those creatures. White of hair and blue eyes," "The boy," "Exactly. The sky had given birth and the gods protection around Nimwei weakened. Nimwei was vulnerable a month ago, maybe she still is" Zarek says, "Ahan," he drops the books and picks one.
"The boy may have potential, let me bring him into the fold," Anarchy says, "I doubt you can do that but you can go ahead and try. Now, what news do you have for me?".
PYRRHUS
Night falls with heat, blood hornets rule the night as they attack exposed skin for blood. The red ones are numerous in Pyrrhus, famous for the burns they leave after a sting. Sounds of palm against skin tell the tales of men trying to sleep through the stings, but whilst men sleep not all women.
Emilia stands up from the kingsized bed, one she has become familiar with though she is denied its privacy as her master lays beside her.
Legs opened wide from wind to caress in naked body. Emilia puts on thin cloth to wrap her body, she looks around the room; spacious and furnished, scents of lavender fills the room but so does the snores of the sleeping beast. Emilia draws near to a wardrobe beside the bed, she opens it and makes a quick search before pulling out a piece of paper.
She moves as light as a feather and sneaks out the room. There are no guards stationed outside, she moves fast through the halls of the mansion, casting no shadows underneath lit torches as if she is one already. She dodges two guards who walk by and swiftly moves behind two slave girls in discussion.
She rushes down the stairs and sneaks past a few more guards before she reaches the cells, the dungeon-made-dormitories which the gladiators are confined to.
Before she reaches him, his blue eyes catches her and in a blink it misses her, Kane stands at his door with perplexed gaze. His heart almost jumps out of his chest when Emilia suddenly appears before him, "What the hell…? Are you trying to scare me?" he says but she only responds with a hug. Her eyes look glassy with tears behind them, "What is it?", "I want us to escape. Let us leave this place, you are the chosen one. You cannot die here, your destiny is bigger than this" she says.
She removes the paper and reveals a map to Kane, "Take this, make a plan or something. Kane please, set us free," she says and dashes off like a ghost, gone in the wind.
Kane looks down at the map in his hand; what will be his next move?
