Chapter 2

I turned slowly, i could hear my heart pounding loudly, i looked down and adjusted the bag that was over my shoulder.

"Hey, am talking to you mister, are you done with the work" the guard asked looking at me like he felt something was fishy.

I cleared my throat making my voice deeper.

"Yes, i am through with the work and i have to leave right away" I said, trying to make my voice as deep as possible.He shook his head

" You just got here, how could you be done" the guard asked me and right there, i knew i was in for it.

"Well technically, this is my job, i have lots of experience, so it was an easy task" I saod tying to sound as convincing as i could, making my hands sweaty.

" But you said it was a difficult task" The guard persisted, honestly, i felt like zapping him but he was way stronger and a professional, he could see the attack coming so i kept on with the lie.

" I did?" I asked and laughed nervously, sweat flowing from my head, i could see the curiosity and suspicion is high.

" Take off your cap"

" So wait babe, you mean to say, you were in such conditions, it must have been really hard"

"Honestly, it was, everything felt really bitter for me, those past years...shall we go on?

" I can't sir" i defended, he couldn't force a supposed man

" Take it off now !!.....or I'll take it off for you, and we wouldn't like that, would we?" He commaned, right there I knew they was no escape, I felt trapped, I hadn't even gone far and i was caught.

He looked at me with growing suspicion while i felt really uneasy.

I slowly reached up for the cap accepting my fate, looking up at him, he was now holding his ear, like he was being told some information.

'Goodness gracious, have i been caught, or did they just find out about my disappearance' I thought, my heart beating twice as fast.

He kept looking at me with disdain and hesitation, it was like he was called but didn't want to leave.

" Don't leave! I'll be back soon, got that" the gaurd said and left in a hast.

At that moment, all i wanted to do was thank heavens, i never expected this miracle.

Knowing that they might have noticed my absence, i rushed off fearing the worse.

So back to my story....

I summoned all courage and hope i had left and opened the door which was technically on the floor. I got in through the ladder that was fixed to the wall, taking slow and careful steps, i finally stepped on a solid surface.

Leaving the ladder, i looked around and discovered , it was a secret passage. With fear in my heart, i took slow steps looking behind me, because I never know what i would meet or what to expect.

I stayed close to the wall, so i could hide if someone was coming. I kept moving foward with a sick feeling in my stomach.

I got to a point and saw two tunnels infront of me.

'What am i going to do now, what if this is the tunnel of death'

I sat down on the ground thinking, above me, i heard sounds of running feet and shouting, i guess they were looking for me.

Sitting there for a while,my heart raced and my mind begged for a solution, for a sign atleast.

Suddenly i heard the approaching foot steps, I was on a far end and how i could here from a distance marveled me.

My heart was pounded against my chest, i looked left and right confused on where to hide.

Before i could think twice, i was grabbed from behind and dragged forcefully but i pulled back with all my strength.

" I gotcha now, trying to escape huh?" The man said with a sly smile, i guessed his was one of Her men. I made an attack stance not ready to give up without a fight. He grabbed me by my arm exerting pressure which made me wince in pain.

I hit him hard in the groin making him crouch down while holding his groin in pain, i used the opportunity to kick his face with force sending him to the ground. I tried running when he grabbed my leg making me fall on my face, i groaned in pain as i felt the sting on my forehead.

He stood up and grabbed me, raising me up by the neck

"You b**ch" He spout out, looking very angry he held me as i struggled to breath while holding his hands.

"Hey, come down, I've found her, she is by the secret passage, hurry up" He said with his dark eyes staring back at me, enjoying the sight of me struggling to break free. I was slowly losing consciousness, my eyes slowly became heavy as i felt the life in me drifting away.

Then suddenly i was dropped down, making my body fall with a huge 'thud', i coughed out seriously trying to breath in as much air as possible, when i could finally breath, i turned only to see the man laying unconscious not to far from way I sat.

I saw utterly shocked and my breath hitched, i slowly looked up at the figure in front of me, i couldn't see clearly because of the reflection of light, i could only see an outstretched arm which i nervously took.

Standing up, i could finally see who saved me. With my mouth wide agape, i took slow steps back and wiped my face to make sure i was seeing clearly.

'How is this possible?

he is dead ,

am i seeing things again?

this cant be real, right?'

I thought, trying to understand the situation.

The person standing before me was no other than Lucas
