Chapter 10

After going through all of this, my feelings for Melody became clear.

She was like a piece of rotting flesh on my body.

If I didn't cut it out completely, the infection would spread throughout my whole system.

So I asked to meet with her again, wanting to have a real talk.

I brought the divorce agreement I had drafted and asked to meet her at a coffee shop.

But she absolutely refused, insisting I come to her house to discuss it.

I didn't want to waste too much time on this.

With the mindset of getting it over with quickly, I went to the house.

Returning once more to the place I had lived for five years.

Somehow, a sense of desolation suddenly welled up in my heart.

As soon as I opened the door, the aroma of home cooking wafted over me.

Melody had prepared a whole spread of dishes, and was wearing the matching outfits we had bought before, lovingly holding my hand with an affectionate look.

"Honey, you're finally home. How do you like the outfit I'm wearing today?"
