Finally, Theo decided it was best to follow Areilla's advise. If he do start fighting, who knows that he wouldn't attact the attention of something worse.
He just got here and his first meeting was not with the natives but with the zombies. It was already too much mentally draining not having enough information and fighting at night making things even more complicated.
To get out of the ship, he had to cut a small hole in the hull as the door was jammed. With zombies busy doing their job, he pushed away the small rock along with wiggling flesh and body parts to enter the pit.
He made sure to be alert so that zombies wouldn't get attracted but they were in a trance feasting on the monster completely oblivious to whatever was going around them.
" Wait! We can't have you enter the ship without decontamination procedure." Ariella locked the entrance to the inner halls on her own.
" Why? The nano suits are equipped with technology to basically kill and sterilize any residue. I made sure to wait for the procedure to finish before I even open the door." Theo protested.
" But the air might be contaminated. You sneaked inside with the local air and now we need to do a full routine unless you want to become one of those creatures and leave me here to die!"
" Alright, alright, why do you always have to make everything so grim? Just say it and I will do it." Theo was used to her childlike behaviour when they were not doing anything important.
" Also, there is no need for you to act tough. Get into thr pod and rest. Those pain killers would wear off soon making you feel like hell."
Theo practically forgot about his injury. These advance medicine were like magic making it seem like everything was fine. Even the bones would be held by the nano machines so that he could function at his peak performance but it was all a facade.
If he had taken another hit from that beast, he was sure, he would not be able to get up so quickly to hold his rifle.
Before decontamination he first went to the impromptu entrance that he made and stiched it up. There were a variety of tools that could strictly seal up the hull to make it good as new, he also fixed some wiring before heading to clean himself.
By the time he came out, the drugs started to wear off making him feel the pain in his arms and legs. The broken bones weren't moving but the jaggared tips had tore into his muscles and blood vessel that were only functioning because of the nano machine but they wouldn't be able to hold it down for long without him feeling the itch each time he moved his limbs.
" It hurts like hell!" Theo was now limping through the corridor when Ariella calmly used a helper drone to levetate him back to his cabin.
" I bet. Just get into the pod and take a rest. I will wake you up if anyone tries to breach inside." She said softly which was contradicting to her usual tone but Theo didn't have time to think about anything else.
The pain started to get unbearable and he just wanted to get some sleep or even wake up from this terrible dream.
It was hard to imagine that it's only been a week since he left on the mission and most of them was on the journey to reach the black hole.
Now he was whisked here somehow but god wasn't fair to him, and chose one of the most terrible scenario as his starting point.
Fighting off Zombies was definitely on his bucket list but he never thought one day he would be able to cross something off that crazy list.
With his mind swirling with thought, he passed out as Ariella delivered some anesthesia to knock him out.
The pod began to transform as several appendages came out from the base of the pod inspecting Theo's injuries.
These were one of the breakthroughs in human ingenuity, keeping a person alive for prolonged period of time and treating them for a variety of illnesses.
One might even lost his whole body but as long as his head was intact and medical pod was functioning, it would find a way to save the person designing their body using their genetic material.
These were the reason why the prime Artificial intelligence was worshipped back on earth, for giving humans such miraculous gifts and making them a space faring race to reach the stars.
" Thirty minutes since full recovery." She heard the chime of the pod and relaxed a bit. Theo might not have noticed but even Ariella was feeling that she was out of her depth on this planet.
New diseases would need materials for them to research cures, whether the zombie disease spread through blood or air or if their technology would be enough for them to explore this desolate city.
There was also a worry that they landed in some bad part of planet while other sites were flourishing. If these people were less technologically advanced than them, they would surely be greedy to get their hands on her and the different ship module she had to detach for them to land safely.
As the ships AI and navigator, she needed to, no, she had to do her job or else both her and Theo would suffer. She made a plan to release some surveillance drones if they got sufficient power in the morning but she wasn't even sure if that would be possible.
By all signs, this seemed to a planet like earth but in parallel dimensions. If they were inflicted with such diseases there was a chance of nuclear fall out as world leader would have been scrambling to blame each other for the attack.
A nuclear winter would be a devastating news for her. Her small black warp engine would need some repair before it would be functional amd for that she would need some resources.
Either find a electrical supply source or use solar, regardless of the outcome for now she could only lay low and observe Theo which was her favorite pass time as she barely slept.
