'Vibratory Chaos'
Ragus felt his heart being destroyed by the purple lightning-clad youngster.
'Fuck the canon. I don't know whether this event happened in the original or not, but now that I am here, I may as well reap as many benefits as possible. Plus, this guy is ultimately a fodder anyway,' Akeru internally shrugged.
He didn't feel any remorse in saying a Stage 0 individual was cannon fodder.
In the grand scheme of things, he himself might as well be considered fodder, so why can't the frail-looking old man be considered fodder?
Ragus quickly got away from Akeru while shooting some quick arrows with his lightning crossbow.
'Seraph's shell,' Akeru's ultimate defence, which he had activated just as he created Vibratory Chaos, took its form.
The lightning arrows were rendered useless as Akeru's shell also had its own lightning.
"Old man, you are in your twilight years. I can't see you suffer on the battlefield anymore, so let me ease your burden," Akeru had no hint of shame on his face when saying that.
His purple robe in an instant changed color to red.
"I am not that old, you demon!" 'I should be able to survive for a few minutes while using lightning to circulate my blood, though I need to quickly get to a healer.'
Ragus, being one of the experienced Shining Generals of the Diamond Kingdom, had the vitality of a cockroach.
He had risen to his position without any artificial or external means, showing his level of skills.
Unfortunately for him, Akeru had already anticipated this.
Akeru moved in a completely different direction from where Ragus was retreating.
'Huh, why is he going—' Ragus' eyes widened.
In the next instant, a claw made of spatial magic tore away his neck from behind.
Ragus, one of the Shining Generals of the Diamond Kingdom, lost his life to Vice-Captain of Golden Dawn, Langris Vaude, near the border of Clover and Diamond Kingdoms.
Ragus was so focused on making sure that all his organs were getting blood in his body that he forgot that he was fighting somebody before.
Akeru had already foreseen this, so he had already moved towards his next prey.
Water in his hands took the shape of a claw, Vibratory Chaos accommodating the new water structure.
Ladros' eyes widened as Akeru appeared near him in the next instant.
He was caught off-guard as he had just seen his senior dying, so it was the perfect moment to ambush.
Unfortunately, he was not a pushover when it came to speed and immediately kicked the ground forward, such that he shot backwards at immense speed.
'His speed is close to mine when Orion's Ordeal is activated,' Akeru observed as he shot some very quick water bullets at Ladros while chasing after him.
"Where are you running away?"
"We can talk civilly. You don't want the Diamond Kingdom to retaliate harshly if you do something to me. If you allow me to go now, then I will make sure that the Diamond Kingdom won't trouble you for years to come."
Ladros had already realized that he would be severely outmatched by three individuals who could dominate a Shining General.
"Bold of you to assume that you would leave alive from here," Akeru showed his killing intent.
He was completely serious when making this threat.
'I don't know if killing one of the top brass of the Diamond Kingdom was the objective of the mission or not, but I don't think it would matter. After all, it wouldn't be considered insubordination if I hadn't become a subordinate to Rill yet.'
"You leave me no choice but to kill you. Don't blame me for the painful death that will follow," Ladros also didn't bother hiding his killing intent.
A bullet was hurled at Akeru, who ignored it as Seraph's shell took care of it.
In the next instant, countless lasers were shot at Akeru, who was hiding in his shell.
BOOM
Akeru's shell stood under the barrage of these powerful beams made of pure mana.
However, due to their number and the momentum they carried, Akeru's momentum was reduced.
The red robe made of mana changed colour back to purple.
'Bystander's Magic: Still Spectator'
'As I suspected, Ladros and I are really alike in the aspect of pure mana applications. Some aspects of his, like how he concentrates his mana or how he enhances muscles, he is superior to me,' Akeru thought.
However, he didn't feel any inferiority when he thought about this.
A smile appeared on his face.
'I finally have a way to increase my pure mana applications which have stagnated for so long. Though it won't really increase my combat prowess by much, it is the most time-efficient of all the options I have currently.'
The world began moving faster.
'Time to analyze him thoroughly and learn all his secrets,' Akeru had a glint in his eyes as he rushed at the man after the barrage of lasers stopped.
Ladros involuntarily shivered after seeing the intensity of Akeru's gaze.
'What's with that gaze? Does he swing that way?' Ladros, who was thinking of going into close combat, decided to maintain the distance between them instead.
However, he wasn't given the luxury of deciding how he wanted to fight as Rill's snake blocked his path to retreat from behind with Akeru coming towards him from the front.
"Akeru! It would be preferable to keep him alive, but it's fine if he accidentally dies. So try to aim to make him lose his limbs; it should reduce the difficulty of capturing him," Rill said while coming closer to the duo facing off against each other.
"Got it!" 'Orion's Ordeal' Akeru instantly reached near Ladros, swiping his palms.
"I heard that you like foreign mana. Here, take mine," Akeru said in an earnest tone, his facial expressions betraying all the killing intent or anything unusual he had shown moments earlier.
Ladros was caught off-guard by the change of demeanour but ignored it and tilted his body, dodging the swipe while punching Akeru's face.
"No, thank you."
BOOM.
Ladros' fist made contact with Seraph's shell.
Ladros quickly dashed to his left with Akeru hot on his heels.
'As expected, not only did his defence have mana vibrating furiously similar to the spell he was using in his hands, but I can't properly absorb it as its penetrative power is too much for my body to handle.'
Ladros looked at the outer side of his fist with blood seeping out of it.
'Even if I ignore how he could use dual affinity magic, that vibrational part is not due to his spell, but his own mana control, which even surpasses mine in that aspect. Ridiculous.'
Ladros didn't expect a kid who even seemed grimoire-less to have so much power packed in his small frame.
"I hope you didn't forget that I exist too."
To Ladros' horror, multiple small spatial spheres were moving towards him at a decent speed.
Normally, he would have avoided this by dodging them, but with Rill's poison at his left side, Akeru on his trail from behind, and Langris at the front, his only option was to go towards the right side.
However, Akeru was diagonally moving towards it such that he would reach Ladros quickly, such that he would have no way to dodge the spatial bullets.
He wasn't arrogant or foolish enough to test whether he would be able to absorb the magic from those spatial spells without losing some chunk of his body.
He didn't have time to send mana bullets at the large number of spatial "bullets" coming at him.
'I need to limit that spatial mage's attack options. Maybe make him lessen his options by using that average-looking kid as the shield,' Ladros instantly realized his next plan of action and started moving towards the right.
Akeru, who was flickering in and out of his focus spell throughout the battle, instantly thought about the most likely move that Ladros would make.
'Hehe, he thinks that Langris will show any hesitation. He wouldn't even bat an eye if he is able to take me down at the cost of my life,' Akeru internally chuckled at Ladros's assumption.
'Theoretically, those spatial bullets should be stopped after they have transported a decent amount of mana out of my mana zone before reaching me. I have no plans to test it out today,' Akeru internally thought while thinking about his next moves.
He didn't have to think much as somebody else made things easier for him.
