Akeru processed the information very quickly.
It took less than a second in the real world for this to happen.
There was silence on the battlefield as all attention was focused on what the newly appointed Vice-Commander would do.
People could see him standing and, in the next instant, stomping on the ground.
"Mana Zone: Healer's Sanctuary"
Though his voice was a whisper, surprisingly it was heard by every individual.
In the next instant, the whole battlefield was covered in Akeru's mana.
Appendages of water started appearing around individuals and wrapping around them, such that most were startled.
In the next instant, everyone who was injured could be seen healing rapidly.
Blood stopped flowing and the pain started dulling.
Chunks of lost flesh started regrowing.
Most knowledgeable people present at the scene were shocked.
'Mana Zone?! How have I not heard about him before? Not only is his healing prowess significant, but he is healing so many people at once, each with different wounds. Such a feat is no ordinary achievement,' the noblewoman standing beside Rill thought, shocked.
So were all the other generals present on the battlefield.
"Impressive," Rill smirked when he saw other people's reactions to this feat.
'With this move, he has consolidated his position as Vice-commander, as nobody is foolish enough to complain now,' Rill instantly saw through Akeru's tactic.
His analysis was spot on, as Akeru had done this primarily for this very reason, though training this technique was a secondary consideration.
Akeru was continuously switching between using 'Still Spectator' and focusing on healing people to a certain level, as he needed to observe how exactly his healing process was going to deal with deviations from his original calculations.
Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, there were many deviations, making it challenging for Akeru.
'As expected, not only is everyone's rate of healing different due to differences in age, mana, injury duration, and severity but also how that injury is dealing with the environment. Though I am not focusing on the latter, as preventing chances of infections due to dust and such would be very tough for me - that job is for the official healers,' Akeru thought.
In nearly one minute, most people were healed.
"Everyone who got healed is supposed to get themselves checked by medics. As most people here have already seen, I have healed you directly without properly cleaning up the wounds and taking precautions against various diseases, so don't blame me if you drop dead one day in the future due to your negligence," Akeru chuckled at seeing some people's scared expressions.
"Others who are not healed completely also have to go to medics, as either your injury is too complicated, or it requires more observation as medics heal you." With that, Akeru disappeared from his spot and appeared near Rill.
"Good job."
"Thanks," Akeru smiled at Rill's smile.
"Anyway, we will be having a meeting with all the generals in about 4 hours, so you can rest until then. Fuyumi will show you the way to your quarters," Rill said while glancing at the cyan-coloured girl standing near him.
"Uh, yes. Let me show you your quarters, Vice-Commander," the girl in question—Fuyumi—regained her stoic look while starting to walk in one direction with the elegance of a noble.
Akeru followed behind her while giving a nod to Rill and Langris.
'Let's see, she is a member of Golden Dawn, has some magic related to Voice or Sound, and she clearly is a noble. Age? Around 20 from what I can see,' Akeru's gaze went towards an inappropriate part.
Akeru shook his head, getting rid of all the unwanted thoughts while focusing on analyzing the person in front of him.
'Where was I? Combat prowess? Well, from the number of Blue Lines, I could see on her, I will guess either Third Class or Second Class Senior Magic Knight. I don't know whether that is impressive or not, as I don't have a proper reference,' Akeru sighed while following the stoic noble.
They walked for nearly 10 minutes, making Akeru question several times during that duration whether to start running to the location or not.
Luckily, they arrived at what Akeru could see was a camp.
'Hmm, that's a large number.'
Another 2 minutes, and they arrived at a lavish and tall building with multiple floors.
'This is definitely made from magic.'
They entered the building and travelled to the third-last top floor.
"Here, apart from Commander and Vice Commanders, all the generals live here. This floor is entirely yours to use," she said and started telling him about some more things before she bid farewell.
Akeru flopped on the bed, spreading his legs and arms.
'Well, time to reflect on the entire encounter.' With that, Akeru began pointing out areas where he could have improved with relative ease.
---
In a room, a large round table could be seen.
Eleven people were sitting on the chairs present in the room.
This room was in the same building where Akeru was residing.
"So, why is everyone silent? Are we here to look at each other's faces?" Akeru said before proceeding to take a sip from the orange juice he had on the table.
'I wanted everyone to naturally talk. I guess I should have been more specific,' Rill thought while putting a firecracker in his mouth.
"It's really surprising that you are a Junior Magic Knight," Langris said with an amused tone.
Some of the other people present in the room visibly staggered as they heard that.
'Are we here to discuss that? Or is this his way to break the ice? Though I don't know if that choice is good or not,' Akeru thought without any change in his expression or sipping action.
"Yeah, I was officially put on duty a few days ago and this is my first mission. I guess it's time to get some merits to increase my rank," Akeru shrugged and put the straw back in his mouth.
'Sugar is addictive,' Akeru thought as he looked at other people's expressions.
"Haha, Captain did mention you briefly, a monstrous individual. I didn't expect the real deal to be way above what I imagined," a Vermillion-Haired individual said while laughing.
"Hehe, Fuegoleon-san is too kind. I still have a lot to learn," Akeru said while thinking back to the spar he had with the man in question last year.
Looking back, he could say that he had come so far.
"Fufufu, you underestimate yourself, though remaining humble is what Captain always says. I go by Hojin, nice to meet you."
'Way to go Hojin!' Rill internally applauded that they were finally introducing themselves.
However, contrary to what he thought, it would have been more efficient and easier to get the same outcome if he had announced at the beginning that they were going to have introductions.
Two minutes of silence was painful for most of the individuals present here before Akeru spoke up to start the conversation.
"It's really nice to meet you too, Hojin-san. I look forward to our cooperation in the future," Akeru smiled.
'Hojin Vermillion, Crimson Lions, First Class Senior Knight, 22 years old,' Akeru recalled from the information packet Rill had given him an hour ago about all the generals.
"Though you might be inexperienced due to your age, I will say your combat prowess is way above my perception. Along with that, I will trust in the commander's judgment. I look forward to working with you in the future," a man with silver hair said in a stoic voice.
"Yeah, the feeling is mutual. I would be counting on you too, to cover my inexperience," Akeru said with the same amiable smile.
'Sujin Silva, Silver Eagles, First Class Senior Knight, 22 years old and unsurprisingly Hojin's twin. I have heard about both of them before, as their story about their family background is quite interesting,' Akeru didn't show his amusement outwardly.
