82. I FUCKING WANT ANSWERS

(If you want a bonus chapter, make sure to give Power stones. We are running very low on Power stones these days.)

Miko barely dodged the fire projectile launched at her from inside the restaurant.

"What the fuck? Are you insane? We are in a civilian area!" She cursed while the pages of her grimoire started flipping.

A person appeared near her in the next instant with a flame coating their fist.

BOOM

A palm calmly met Kaiser's fist.

"Sigh, it's really going to be troublesome to deal with you here. Let's change the battlefield." Tentacles came out of Miko's back as multiple of those appendages grabbed his limbs and threw him in a different direction through the air.

They were near the border of the city, so Kaiser landed on a clearing outside the city.

Miko arrived shortly after he landed.

"I was going to—" Her words were cut short as the ground where she was standing erupted in very intense flames, engulfing her entire being.

However, unlike what one would expect from shonen protagonists, Kaiser didn't stare for more than a second at that spot and took a step backwards just as a water bullet passed through where his head had been from his right side.

"Tch, as expected, taking you out easily would be difficult." Miko clicked her tongue as she fired a few more bullets at Kaiser, who dodged a few of them while sending multiple phoenixes, which not only took care of those bullets but also made Miko perform some dodging maneuvers.

'Fuck, from the powers he's showing, he should be around second class magic knight. Though, due to him being a bad match-up for me as I focus more on close-combat, it would take a while to take care of him. I hope Takuma doesn't get captured in that time.' Miko internally cursed her lack of not properly going through the files of all the generals she was given.

She wasn't really expecting Akeru to have accomplices other than that scarlet-haired idiot.

"Was it you?" Kaiser suddenly asked her a question. He stopped briefly, and Miko mimicked him.

"What do you mean?"

"The one who was a spy in that ca—" Kaiser's eyes widened as he felt foreign mana enter his body.

'When did she leave that amount of mana? Anyway, it doesn't matter as Ren's array should take care of it.' Kaiser thought as he created a very big phoenix, multiple folds bigger than his previous ones.

Currently, Miko is standing still at her location due to her intense focus on casting her charm magic.

Just as Kaiser was going to release the huge phoenix, in the next instant, the phoenix started becoming unstable as it got dispersed into the air.

Kaiser's eyes widened in horror as he felt some mana in his body that was not under his control.

"H-how?" He asked, shocked.

"Hmph, did you really think that an array that you yourself haven't created would work against a first-class? I have killed many fools like that in the past. Maybe you would have stood a chance if you were the one who created that troublesome array."

Kaiser felt like somebody had poured cold water over him.

'N-No, not like this. I need answers; it cannot end like this.' Fear could be seen on Kaiser's face as he started losing control of his mental faculties and feeling a foreign emotion towards Miko.

After his parents' execution and the fall of his nobility, Kaiser started training like crazy to get one thing—revenge against the Rozzo family.

However, all his plans of plotting his revenge were thwarted when one day he read the news of the execution of the Rozzo family due to their crimes.

He thought that he would have been gleeful when the people who he considered mortal enemies were dead.

But the only thing he had felt that time was emptiness with anger that he was not the one who took his revenge.

He had a brief period of time to decide what exactly he wanted to do with his life and even decided to plot against Diamond Kingdom as a whole, but then decided against it due to not knowing the entire truth of who was involved in the downfall of his family.

So, the only wish he had from the bottom of his heart was to know the truth of whether Miko was the one who was the spy in that refuge camp and, if possible, to know about who she was giving that information to.

'No, what the fuck am I feeling? I am going to get my FUCKING answers, right here, right now. I fucking don't care about anything else.' Fear soon turned into rage as Kaiser's eyes turned bloodshot as he started fighting off the feeling of getting charmed by Miko.

This sudden change in resistance by Kaiser caught Miko off-guard, who was standing in the same spot and started redoubling her efforts.

"Stop it. The only way to fight off my control is to have so much absurd will that you would be able to will my mana inside your body to be expelled. You clearly don't have such will, so it's futile. Even people who swing the other way are not immune to my charm," Miko said with a scowl.

She didn't really like the fact that she had to expend more mana here when she had to fight a battle in the future with her opponent unknown.

'I need to get the information about the other guy from him.' She firmed her will about taking as much information from Kaiser as possible.

"FUCK IT, I fucking don't care about any of that!" Kaiser was doing his best to resist the temptation of the mana inside him, and due to that, he had most of his focus on resisting it.

So, he had only one thing in his mind currently—to get answers.

Suddenly, Kaiser's grimoire shone with an orange light.

In the next instant, the entire form of Kaiser was engulfed in fire.

"What the fuck?" Miko's eyes widened as she witnessed the sight in front of her.

She witnessed her mana—getting burned.

"Do you have no self-preservation!?" Miko yelled as she prepared a spell to deal with him.

Unlike fire reinforcement, which people with fire element use, Kaiser had set his entire body on fire.

One could even say that it could be an overcharged fire reinforcement as, other than burning his own flesh, it also greatly enhanced his abilities.

"I FUCKING don't care! I fucking just want some answers!" Kaiser roared as he momentarily felt victorious over the foreign force, only to feel pain.

Lots of pain.

His focus had now shifted to resisting the pain while being functional.

He even welcomed the pain, as, unlike before, he had some semblance of control over his own body and mind.

"Pyroclastic Surge." Due to not being single-focused at the moment, he accidentally spewed out the name of his spell.

Though, even if he hadn't, it wouldn't have mattered.

The ground beneath Kaiser broke as he hurled towards Miko at hypersonic speeds.

BOOM

A fist met a very big water hand.

The latter was created by Miko with multiple of her tentacles, moments before contact.

"What answers do you want?" She asked as she realized that her charm magic would be useless against him at the moment, so she welcomed the chance to stall him.

'I have to stall him; he wouldn't be able to maintain this spell for a longer period of time unless he wants to be burned until only his bones would be left... he wouldn't do that, right?'

"Were you the spy who gave away the information in the refuge camp ten years ago?"

Kaiser hurled another punch at Miko, as the latter jumped backwards and did a kick which batted away his punch.

"Huh?" Confusion appeared on Miko's face.

Kaiser took a deep breath as he stomped on the ground. A wall of fire came from the ground they were standing on and covered both of them.

'I don't have much time in this form; I need to be quick.'

Miko had covered her body with all the tentacles and was barely able to avoid getting burned.

Kaiser was relatively unharmed from that attack, as the intensity of the flames on his body was way higher than the flames erupted from the ground.

"Was your friendship with Raviel a lie?" Miko's eyes widened in realization.

"K-Kaiser?" she asked for confirmation as she recalled a little boy's face from her memories.

"Answer me." Kaiser didn't bat an eye as he released a phoenix point-blank, which was countered by Miko creating a water bullet at the last second.

Steam obstructed the view, but Kaiser rushed at her again.

BOOM.

A large fist made of water countered his fist again.

"Yes, I was the one who was responsible for it," Miko said after taking a deep breath.

Conflict appeared on her face, but it soon regained its calm.

"My friendship with both of you was a lie. It was just a means to complete my goal."
