Chapter 1

Louisa Watson, who had been displaying her fondness for me on X moments earlier, surreptitiously acquired the limited-edition sports car I had been eagerly anticipating at the car dealership.

Sixty minutes later, her male subordinate was seen driving the vehicle and shared a post on his social media profile.

[It's a joy to have a superior who looks after her employees.]

She was well aware of my passion for automobiles, yet she had the audacity to snatch it away and present it to another person.

That evening, I brought all the premium sports cars I had amassed in my garage to her residence.

I insisted she select one and give it away.

My father even arranged a blind date with the Scott family on my behalf within hours.

Given my wealth, attractive appearance, and fit physique, why should I waste time on someone who didn't genuinely care for me?

——

As dusk fell, I stood on the villa's balcony, observing the setting sun.

A powerful engine sound approached, and a limited-edition supercar with black and gold paintwork appeared before the villa.

Marco Tucker circled the vehicle to the passenger side and courteously opened the door.

A pair of glistening silver high heels touched the ground.

Louisa, dressed in a white suit and carrying a white crocodile skin handbag, emerged from the car.

Her gaze was fixed on Marco, who had opened the door for her, with a hint of assertiveness.

I observed them exchanging a few words, and Louisa seemed particularly pleased.

My phone buzzed with notifications – it was a new X post from Marco.

The image showed a side view from the passenger seat perspective.

His slender fingers gripped the steering wheel, and his lips curved into a perfect smile.

[Driving the car my boss gifted me to take her home – even the air feels sweet.]

At that moment, all my hopes were shattered.

When the salesperson messaged me earlier, I had assumed Louisa was planning a surprise, so I spent three hours happily choosing an outfit.

I waited for her until I was famished, then checked my phone to see Marco's social media post.

Initially, I suspected Marco had taken the photos without Louisa's knowledge out of vanity.

But then I saw a post on X.

Now I was certain.

She had indeed secretly taken the car I had coveted for six months from the dealership and given it to someone else.

I approached the woman.

Marco swiftly moved forward, positioning himself between us.

"Mr. Gilmore, good evening. Ms. Watson and I just finished dinner out and returned a bit late. Please don't be upset with her."

Faced with his provocation, my expression cooled, and I found it somewhat amusing.

What right did he have to ask me not to be upset with my girlfriend?

"I haven't said anything yet, but you're quick to paint me as the villain."

Marco's eyes narrowed slightly, and his stoic face paled a bit.

I forced a smile.

"Are you comfortable driving it?"

Years of experience in society had taught me a thing or two.

A supercar worth nearly $2.7 million was beyond the means of a marketing director like Louisa, who lacked substantial resources.

If he dared to accept it, he must have guessed the car's true owner.

He mumbled a response. "Mm-hmm."

Louisa stepped between us and tugged at my sleeve.

"Come on, Lionel, doesn't he need to pick me up and drop me off daily for work?"

"Besides, I suddenly remembered you had ordered a supercar, so I picked it up and gave it to him."

"With all the supercars you own, you don't mind, right?"

I placed my hands in my pockets, curled my lips, and a flash of coldness and anger crossed my eyes.

"Actually, I do."

"I've been anticipating this car for nearly half a year, and no one has the right to take it away, not even you, my girlfriend."

Louisa was taken aback by my blunt response, and her expression soured instantly.
