Chapter 5

The animated conversation in the chamber suddenly ceased. Nervous glances were exchanged among the attendees.

Even Emily appeared taken aback.

As everyone struggled to comprehend what had just been uttered, Ryan let out a scornful laugh, dismissing it as inconsequential.

"Surely you jest. The company's just gone public—how could there possibly be monetary troubles? Someone's clearly made an error."

Emily, seemingly reassured by his statement, sighed and turned to the financial head, her expression stern.

"Don't circulate unsubstantiated gossip without verification. You're causing needless alarm."

"But it's accurate..." the finance manager attempted to explain, their voice quavering.

Emily interrupted them with a dismissive gesture. "That's enough. Return to your workstation."

Ryan chimed in, his tone exuding arrogance. "Indeed, get your information straight before barging in here like it's doomsday. Next instance, there'll be consequences for such conduct."
