Chapter 7

Julian inquired, "What's on your mind?"

As I lay beside him, I couldn't exactly admit I was thinking about Vincent.

Noticing my silence, he abruptly sat up and pressed his lips to mine. "You belong to me now. Forget about that lowlife Vincent!"

"How am I yours?" I questioned.

Between grown-ups, when things are consensual, surely one night together doesn't equate to a lifelong commitment, does it?

Perhaps it was my facial expression...

It was too candid, and Julian suddenly appeared wounded.

He gently held my face, playfully pouting. "I told you yesterday, if you're with me, you're mine. No changing your mind. Are you trying to deny it right after waking up? Or was my performance last night unsatisfactory? These things improve with practice. Give me more opportunities!"

As he spoke, he leaned in for another kiss.

The effects of last night's medication had dissipated, and I could now sense the ring on my finger, an inexplicable feeling of discomfort setting in.
