Chapter 5

I took out my phone and snapped several photos of them in quick succession.

The crisp "click-click" sound echoed in my ears.

Melody abruptly pulled away from Victor's embrace, stepping back with a look of dismay and helplessness on her face, as if she'd just realized what she'd done.

She glanced at me anxiously, fumbling for words:

"I forgot, I didn't mean to, I—"

She couldn't continue.

Because I was just staring at her coldly.

"You don't need to say a word. I'll handle this."

Victor cut her off in a deep voice, turning to look at me. In an instant, he regained his usual composed and cool demeanor, the sharp gaze of a top-notch lawyer.

"Tiernan, we'll discuss this at home. This park is close to your college, with students coming and going. Making a scene here won't do you any favors. Besides..." He glanced at the messy ground, "Is it really worth bullying a lonely, helpless woman?"

I looked at him coldly, my voice steady.
