IAN'S POV
I paused for a moment feeling exhausted. So far he had been able to dodge all my attacks with just slight movements at the last second. And from my experience with previous battles, this wasn't a fight..., He was toying with us.
I turned to see Kaels body being flung back to the direction he came from and Roshan showing his annoying smile.
"Lets make this more interesting, three of you come at me at once", he said feeling smug.
Standing opposite him, a grin appeared on my face. Usually I would be annoyed at his arrogance but instead my smile widened as the thought of wiping that smug off his face came to mind.
"Big mistake", I said taking a stance and Dorrien as if reading my mind rushed forward towards Roshan. His body swung attacking Roshan in succession his fist following shortly after his kicks.
Dorrien fighting style shikanami or popularly called dragons fury relied mostly on the feet making ones foot work fast and swift in dodging while landing kicks that get stronger after each hit.
For a normal human, one kick was enough to shatter bones.
"This is certainly going to slow him down but still not enough, except...."
Kael ran in from the right and soon was behind Roshan. I recognized what he was about to do as It was what he did to me.
"Now theres only one place to go ..", I thought dashing forward while Roshan's focus was on Kael and Dorrien.
"How do you defeat a guy who can see your moves from a mile away", Zimri said smiling.
"Too slow", Roshan said to Kael whose hand was almost at the back of Roshan's head.
"I know..." Kael said smiling as Roshan fist connected to his stomach.
Already stomping my left feet on the ground, I spun in the air adding more power to the apex fist.
******
"Think Ian THINK !
I screamed to myself looking at the smug Roshan across me.
"I'll back you up", Dorrien said rushing over to Roshan.
"What do I do?" Roshan can predict our every move. Racking my brain, I concentrated.
Watching Roshans movements with Dorrien, the answer hit meas clear as day.
So what if he can see it, if he can't dodge it.
The apex fist was a move that came in two succesions. The first is designed to create an illusion stunning your opponent for some time throwing your opponent off balance.
And the second part allowed you to draw power from all parts of your body and focus it at one point, the apex.
"I just need one second," I screamed in my head feeling exhausted my knees already starting to buckle.
Kaels body swayed with the force of the punch, but that didn't matter though cos I was right behind him.
Executing the first stage, Roshans body tilted to the side following the punch trying to channel it.
"It's over ", I shouted summoning all my energy into my fist and BANG. The air rippled sending shockwaves pushing us off our feet.
Getting myself off the ground after sometime starting to feel some strength on my knees, I turned to see Kael helping Dorrien. He seemed to be wounded but nothing fatal.
And then to Roshan. My eyes widened as I saw him standing. He seemed to be in disbelief as he wiped the blood off his lips that sprewed from his mouth. Zimris lips gaped open and I felt the would fall any moment.
"We did it, we wiped his smile off his face,"Kael shouted his tired eyes gleaming with happiness. Dorrien chuckled at that but still gave a satisfying smile.
"You three make a pretty good team for your first time",Zimri said walking over.
Roshan stood lost in thought.
"An illusion punch, no it felt more than that...
And at such speed.
His facial expression became calm and he smiled softly.
He might just be the one...
"Good job everyone, now who's hungry", Roshan said joining the rest. Kael raised his hands quickly stretching them high above his head to which I laughed slightly.
"Doughnuts won't be bad", I said to which Dorrien shrugged and soon we were heading to the bakery I passed on the way here. Reaching the bakery, the smell of freshly baked pastries hit me and I didn't realise how hungry I was.
We stepped in and had a sit round a table that could accommodate five, rose petals scattered around the corners adding to the antique.
A man who looked like he was in his early 30's wearing a blue apron approached us, his muscles bulging underneath his white shirt. On sighting Roshan and Zimri, he gave a big bow.
"Maybe Roshan was telling the truth...", I thought.
A girl wearing a blue apron that looked the same as the middle aged mans' soon approached us.
"NYX !!! Dorrien, Kael and I screamed in shock.
