• CHAPTER 03
PETER GETS ARRESTED
It is 3:02 PM. The stadium is filled with fans, supporters of the home team and the away team. Soon, the players come pouring out of the tunnel onto the pitch.
Some of Peter's teammates have been plotting against him since he came to the stadium, but Peter didn't know, and he had been interacting with them ever since.
"I do hope we win this match," said Peter to Robert as they rushed onto the field.
Robert scoffed, looking at the other players with whom they had plotted against Peter, and they chuckled. Peter, however, did not see anything to laugh about, but then he also laughed. He didn't know what was waiting for him ahead.
Soon...
The match began, and it was as boring as the music played by a DJ in a graveyard, until the 30th minute when the away team scored from a corner set piece. Now, Starnet F.C is trailing by a goal to none. It remained so until half time.
At the campsite...
The family of Peter Anderson is worried, and they have started thinking that a forest animal had attacked and killed him.
"Should we issue his obituary and put it everywhere in the city?" Paul said foolishly.
"Shut up, punk," shouted his father in frustration and anger.
But their mother still has hope that her son will come back soon, and thus, they waited for his arrival.
It was at this point that Paul remembered the words that Peter had said to him before: "Look, you see tomorrow's match, I will be there."
"Maybe he's there, just maybe," Paul thought to himself.
But he did not disclose any of this to his parents because he is certainly aware of the consequences.
Back at the stadium...
During half time, the coach gave his players some pep talk.
"Coach, aren't you thinking of substituting Peter? He's not quite doing well as a striker," Robert urged.
"Nope. Peter will still play the position. I still believe in him," the coach replied.
The statement infuriated Robert, and he remained silent.
It was at this point they were called to complete the remaining 45 minutes.
At the start of the second half until about the 45th minute, Peter played awfully. His style of play was a complete horror to both the fans and the rest of the players, especially Robert, who was sitting on the bench.
He kept on reminding the coach about the rubbish that Peter had been playing, yet the coach still believed that Peter would do something remarkable in the game.
At the 75th minute, everyone had totally lost hope in the home team and believed they had lost, but then Jack scored a goal that shook the whole stadium and gave the team hope.
At this point, Starnet F.C believed that they could still win the match, but looking at the clumsy striker, Peter, they lost hope again.
The teammates on the bench kept on pressuring the coach to substitute Peter for Robert, but the coach stood his ground.
90 minutes plus added time came, and everyone had it in mind that the game would end in a draw, but then something happened.
Peter's clumsiness led to a very awkward goal in the 93rd minute. The whole stadium shook with joy.
The fact that Peterson Anderson had scored made the coach run up and down like a madman in happiness. It was then that the referee blew his whistle and ended the match.
Peter scored the winning goal!!!
In the dressing room, everyone was happy except for three people who didn't play in the match: Robert, Patrick, and Howard. These boys had a very horrific plan against Peter that he didn't know about.
In the midst of all this, Peter forgot all about his family in the woods.
At the campsite...
Mr. Jamie had had enough. He was no longer going to listen to any motivational speech by Mrs. Lydia. Mr. Jamie had made up his mind.
"We're going to the city to look for him. We will meet the police and then—" Mr. Jamie was speaking until Paul interrupted.
"What if he is dead? Or what if he is somewhere around here in the woods?"
Mr. Jamie believed that his son was not dead.
However, Paul knows that Peter is at the Starnet City Stadium, playing football, but he does not want to disclose any of it to his parents.
"Everybody pack up," ordered Mr. Jamie, "We are going to the city to look for him."
The camp broke up, and everyone piled into the car, headed for the city.
Meanwhile...
The Starnet City players are all overjoyed except for Robert, Patrick, and Howard.
Peter had totally forgotten about home and had focused his mind on the amount of money waiting for them as their trophy.
"Let's go to the cabin and stay for the night. Tomorrow morning, we will all disembark to our various homes," ordered Coach Philips at about 7 PM.
Peter spent the night at Starnet City Stadium with the rest of the team, but he noticed that Patrick, Howard, and Robert were not together with them at the cabin. He wanted to tell the coach but ultimately decided against it.
Peter could not sleep. He was thinking about their victory all night. He soon got tired of thinking and fell into a deep sleep at 4 AM.
Early in the morning, Peter awoke, and in front of him lay Robert, who had not been in bed the other night. Horrifically enough, behind him were Patrick and Howard, which was shocking.
"But they weren't here last night," Peter thought.
When everyone was fully awake, Peter was ready to move out from Starnet City Stadium to the woods, but then something happened that almost struck him unconscious.
A dark van stopped, and four armed men in black came out, grabbed Peter, and handcuffed him. Then they put him in the van and sped off.
Every other person who witnessed this was shocked, except for three boys who were smiling nefariously at the other end... Patrick, Howard, and Robert.
Their plan came to pass.
Well, who were those dark figures and why did they hijack Peter? Who knows?
