"While we're waiting for the result, hurry up and bring me that frying pan I asked for," Edward added.
"Yes, sir. I'll be right up!" Nicholas replied.
Two minutes later, Nicholas returned with a medium-sized frying pan.
"What on earth do you need this frying pan for?" Nicholas couldn't help but ask, curiosity piqued.
"I've got three minutes left, and I need to whip up that surprise I promised you!" Edward said with a mysterious smile.
"Suprise?" Nicholas wondered how it would do with the pan.
"Exactly."
Edward quickly pulled out the seven horns he'd cut off the special wolf earlier and tossed them into the pan.
"What are those?" Nicholas asked, like an inquisitive child.
At that moment, Peterson, feeling a sudden reduction in his pain, also began to watch Edward with keen interest.
"Now, fetch some water," Edward instructed.
"It's right here!" Nicholas pulled a small hose from nearby, turned the knob, and water gushed into the pan.
With everything in place, Edward began muttering under his breath and pulled out a white substance from his pocket. He carefully placed it beneath the pan and then produced a handgun.
A chill ran down Nicholas and Peterson's spines as Edward pointed the gun at them. For a moment, they were frozen in terror, unsure what would happen next.
Edward started making mock gunshots, as if he were about to take them out.
Nicholas thought to himself, "Is this the surprise he's been talking about?"
"Don't worry. This is just a lighter," Edward said smugly, pulling the trigger.
A flame shot out of the gun and ignited the white substance, which immediately began to sizzle and burn. In no time, the fire enveloped the pan, and the water inside began to boil furiously within ten seconds.
"No way! Am I seeing things? This is incredible!" Peterson muttered, completely mesmerized and forgetting his pain.
In fact, he hadn't even realized that his wounds were healing rapidly.
Nicholas was equally captivated by the sight. It all seemed so surreal.
"Judging by your expressions, you're dying to know what that white stuff is," Edward smiled. "It's my homemade concentrated solid alcohol. Pretty powerful, isn't it?"
With that, Edward began to mutter again, as if chanting a magical spell. He closed his eyes and continued for about thirty seconds.
Suddenly, he extended his index and middle fingers of his right hand and pointed them at the pan, as if infusing it with some mystical energy.
Oddly enough, the moment his fingers pointed at the pan, a muffled sound came from inside. Nicholas and Peterson were taken aback, but Edward looked thrilled.
"Three minutes on the dot! Mission accomplished!" Edward lifted the lid, and as the steam cleared, seven glistening pills were seen swirling rapidly in the pan.
Edward quickly scooped six of the pills into a tawny-colored bottle and pointed to the remaining one.
"You're in for a treat, Nicholas. This is your surprise. Swallow it."
Nicholas had never imagined that Edward had been brewing some kind of magical elixir. He thought it was the cure for his brain tumor.
"Is this the medicine for my brain tumor?" Nicholas asked excitedly.
Before Edward could respond, Nicholas popped the pill into his mouth without a second thought. His servant, Peterson, was overjoyed and immediately hopped to his side.
"This is fantastic! Congratulations, boss!"
At that moment, Edward burst into laughter.
"Look, five minutes on the dot. You lose, Nicholas."
Nicholas then took a closer look at Peterson and saw that his skin was completely unblemished. Apart from a few rips in his suit, there wasn't a single wound left on him.
Peterson, realizing he no longer felt any pain, spun around and examined himself in disbelief. He was ecstatic to find that he was fully healed, without even a scar on his body.
He immediately knelt before Edward and said, "You're truly a divine healer. I was blind to have offended you. Please accept my apology."
"Alright, I accept it since you've already had your punishment after all. Now, Nicholas, remember to transfer that hundred million. You know the info about my bank account."
"Absolutely, dear Edward. Thank you for curing my disease," Nicholas said. "A hundred million is nothing to me."
"I never said that pill was for your brain tumor. It's called the Growth Pill."
"Growth Pill?" Nicholas looked utterly baffled.
Suddenly, he felt an itch in his empty sleeve. He stared in disbelief as his missing arm began to fill out, growing back before his eyes. Within moments, the arm he'd lost in a car accident was fully restored.
"Good heavens!" Nicholas gaped in disbelief.
The Growth Pill truly lived up to its name.
"Once you take the Growth Pill, it can rapidly regenerate lost body parts," Edward said proudly. "It's the result of my years of bio-tech research."
Forgetting his status as a CEO of a major company, Nicholas immediately knelt before Edward, bowing his head repeatedly in gratitude.
"Enough with that drama, Nicholas, get up and transfer that money to me," Edward said.
"Sure, sure." Nicholas quickly got to his feet and transferred the funds to Edward via his phone.
"Oh, and how about that number I asked you to look up?" Edward asked.
"I had Ray check it. The owner is living at 383 East Sun Road," Nicholas replied, showing Edward the message Ray had sent.
"Good job! Looks like I've got more work to do," Edward said.
As soon as he finished speaking, his phone rang.
Edward's heart sank when he saw it was his father's number. He had a bad feeling about this and answered immediately.
"Come quickly, Edward! Your mom and I need you…"
The call abruptly ended before Edward could respond.
Edward sighed, "Just my luck. First, my wife divorced me. Now this. When it rains, it pours."
"Don't worry, Edward. You can take care of my brain condition later. Go deal with your own mess first," Nicholas said.
"Alright. Have Ray check out 383 East Sun Road for me. And get me a driver to take me home."
"Sure thing. I'll call Jack right away. And I'm coming with you. I'll make sure no one messes with you and your family," Nicholas said.
"Deal."
Without wasting any time, Nicholas called Jack, who arrived minutes later in a Humvee. Soon, the vehicle sped off, carrying them all at breakneck speed.
