Enchanting Cult Leader 19

"Report, Sect Leader, the spy has been uncovered." Zi Ling stood respectfully at the lower position. Elora glanced up, motioning for her to continue.

"It is none other than the Right Monitor, Xiao Yun."

"Ah? It's him?" Elora's voice was cold, her expression sharp. The usually silent and seemingly honest Right Monitor, who appeared so unassuming, had turned out to be a spy planted by Evan Skylar within Nebula Sect. Truly, one should never judge a book by its cover.

"Yes, he has been acting as an informant for Evan Skylar. When the time comes and Evan Skylar attacks Nebula Sect, Xiao Yun will trigger the drawbridge mechanism, allowing them to infiltrate the Sect."

"Have you uncovered why the Right Monitor agreed to aid Evan Skylar?"

"Because you are a woman, Sect Leader, and all five of the Guardians are also women. He, as a man, naturally does not wish to bow before us. Evan Skylar promised him that if he helped secure Nebula Eclipse, he would support Xiao Yun in ascending to the position of Sect Leader."

"Indeed, a well-played hand." Elora's tone was icy. She despised such opportunistic people. If one had the ability, they should climb to the position of Sect Leader by their own merit, not by engaging in treacherous dealings. Xiao Yun truly deserved his position as Right Monitor.

"So, Sect Leader, what are your plans?" Zi Ling's suggestion was clear—now that the spy had been exposed, the logical course was to eliminate him immediately.

"Keep him for now. He still has great use." Elora understood Zi Ling's intent, but she was confident that Xiao Yun still had a role to play.

"Young Master, stop staring. If you really want to see her, just go and find her," Mo Yu said with exasperation, noticing the way Gu Han kept looking at the door.

"I'm not waiting for her," Gu Han muttered, feeling awkward, his ears flushing slightly. "I'm just... looking around."

"...Then why do you keep staring at the door?"

...

"Mo Yu, why did it take so long to bring the food?" Gu Han turned in surprise as Elora suddenly appeared in front of him.

"What's this? Don't want to see me now?" Elora's voice was soft but filled with an undercurrent of emotion. The look on Gu Han's face, when he realized her true identity in the past, resurfaced in that moment. A pang of pain struck her heart, and a bitter smile tugged at her lips. The agony in her eyes was like a dam breaking, flooding out uncontrollably.

"N-No..." Gu Han stammered, flustered. "I didn't mean that at all! I do want to see you!"

"Really?" Elora quickly suppressed the emotions of her current mission, regaining her usual seductive demeanor. She gazed at Gu Han with an alluring smile, her voice dripping with charm. "Then, you must want to see me, don't you?"

"I... I..." Gu Han hesitated, feeling as though his deepest, truest thoughts had been exposed. His gaze flitted away from her, unable to meet her eyes.

Seeing his avoidance, Elora suddenly wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing herself against him. She placed her soft lips on his, gently brushing them, savoring the taste. Perhaps it was the medicine he had just taken, but his lips had a faint medicinal taste. She bit his lower lip lightly, feeling his body tense up, and mischievously, she bit down harder.

Gu Han winced in pain, his lips parting involuntarily. Elora seized the opportunity, her tongue slipping into his mouth, entwining with his as she deepened the kiss.

His mind went blank. The first time they kissed, he had been giving her medicine. This was the first time they had kissed while fully conscious. Gu Han had no idea how to react, but guided by instinct, he responded to her, pulling her closer in a fierce embrace, matching her passion.

They kissed until air became scarce, and only then did Elora pull away, a delicate silver thread of saliva connecting them for a brief moment. She wore a self-satisfied smile, her expression full of mischief. "Your body tells me that you really want me," she teased, her voice light and triumphant, a stark contrast to her earlier dominance. "I like you. Do you want to be with me?" Her eyes gleamed as she gazed at him, waiting for his answer.

"The sky is dark, Sect Leader. You should rest now," Gu Han deflected, avoiding her direct question with an excuse, as though to distance himself from the moment.

Elora felt a stab of disappointment but knew that some things couldn't be rushed. She sighed, her expression subdued as she turned and left.

Gu Han watched her leave, her defeated figure sending a dull ache through his heart. He reminded himself, Elora was the leader of a cult, a demoness. He couldn't allow himself to like her. He couldn't!

Yet, why did his heart ache so painfully?
