"Uh? Yea- yeah. You said you weren't feeling well last night."
"Exactly. I was feeling so unwell, that I couldn't even walk straight. And then you felt me alone in the room. And as Roan was taking too much time to come and pick me, the man I like was earlier. He came to the room to get me. But well you know, we both had feelings for each other, and I was not in my conscious state of mind too. So, we just happened to have what we had. It's al your fault, Roan. If you had come a little more earlier, than you wouldn't have to see that."
Hearing her words, everyone had their mouths agape. They did not even know what should they hold her accountable for. Everything had just messed up so much, and that made them frown.
It was then that Roan was the one to speak with gritted teeth, "Dove! I am your fiancé! How can you like someone else?" he was pressing his teeth so hard against one another, that made his jaw ache.
Dove saw everyone's reaction, and for someone reason now, her heart no longer raced so fast. In stead it was very calm. She now had come to a resolution. Whatever she did, and said, she knew all these people questioning her very well. They would at last just find a way to paint her as the bad person.
She would tell the truth and say she had given up her first time without her consent? And to whom, she did not know? And what would happen then? She had to apologise? For what? For something she had absolutely no fault in? She would be still called as someone who was tainted. And she would be taunted for it for the rest of her life, and people would give her disgusted, pitiful and so many kind of looks. That is what happens.
And knowing them, she just knew that if she did that it wouldn't be anything in her own favour. So, if she was still going to be at fault regardless of everything.. Why just not be the villain?
After all, it wasn't a bad opportunity for Dove to do what she has been thinking to do all this while.
Dove curled her lips and chuckled a little. Well, now it seems to be the time to just open up. Dove then calmly looked at Roan and said, "Roan Davis, you may be fiancé, chosen by the elders of the families, when we were little. But we have all grown up know. We can have our own taste, types and preferences. Besides, you were only my fiancé, but have I ever told you that I love you? So, what is stopping me from liking someone else? After all, liking someone is purely based on one's heart. No one can control one's heart."
The whole hall seemed to be enveloped by a loud defening silence. And everyone looked at Dove as if they were struck her thunder. Especially the Davis family. W- What did she say? She never liked Roan?
Even Roan was in shock. Only after a moment did he realise that what she was telling was the truth. Ever since, she and he grew up, and understood that they were engaged to each other at their families will. She had only kept that much relationship between them, how much is needed. She had never even unnecessarily held his hand, least even vowing her likeness for him! If anything she treated him like a good friend of hers.
Then they came to the exact question. They are grown up now. If they had not vowed each other of their likeness, what was stopping her from liking someone else?!
