HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

After everyone left, Senior Sterling too turned back before he walked towards his room, before saying, "Go back to do your usual activity. And after a while, come down for lunch." Dove looked at Elder Sterling walk to his room, as he used his cane for support. And seeing his back, her eyes pricked as tears threatened to spill from them, and she took a deep breath.

Though, Senior Sterling acted very nonchalant here, she knew that he was having a lot going on in his mind, and he wasn't very happy with how everything turned out to be. She lowered her head, believing it would be best to give him some time alone. And then she slowly lowered her head and walked towards the staircase to go to her room. On her way, she heard Freya chim in and said, "Hah! You must be happy with how the Sterling Family lost face in front of the Davis family. And how their long term friendship was destroyed."

Dove blinked her eyes, as she scoffed and turned before saying, "Step Mom, tell me honestly, have you been going dumb by the days passing by?" She tilted her head a little before tsking and then said, "You must have lost a lot of face, it seems. Which I am not pitting it all. But it seems that you are the only one who lost face. Because from what I see, Sterling Family wasn't the one who was put in a clown's position, is it?" She chuckled, before waving her hand at her and said, "Drink water, and think about it. You will understand." Before she turned around again. Dove didn't want to waste more breathe arguing with this lady. And she was about to go away, and mind her own business when he heard another voice, "By the way, Happy Independence Day, Dove."

Dove turned around to look at him with a frown, and she saw a smirk on his face. Dove just frowned at him, before she pressed her lips and went away. Noah smirked as he looked at Dove's retreating back. He then turned towards his mother, who was still glaring daggers at Dove's back, while mumbling curses at her. And seeing that, he chuckled and shook his head. Then putting his hands in his pocket, he walked towards her, and said, "Let's go, mom." And then without waiting for her, he walked back to his room.

Dove closed the door, before she walked to her bed and sat. She rubbed her face with her arms. Everything that happened until now was very overwhelming for her. No matter how much she showed herself to be carefree and bold about everything happening, she felt a lot of mental toll on her mind. Sighing, she went to the bathroom, before she stood under the running water of the shower. Standing there, she tried to calm her mind, before then she tried to think about what she would do next. Because apparently, it seems like she couldn't led the same way she has been until now. Quietly look and observe everything that everyone was doing. She now had to take action, and change her ways.

But along with that, she also wanted to wash off the touches that she received from that strange man, whom she did not know. She did not really remember much for last night, to be hating it to her core. But Dove absolutely did not like the fact that she was touched by an unknown man, in a way that couldn't be reversed.

After half an hour, Dove came out of the bathroom, her skin flushed. She had a towel wrapped around her head and was wearing a robe. Walking towards the mirror, she dialed a phone number, while she took the dryer to dry her hairs.
