"Ah! Don't come to me! " the little boy sheirked as he staggered backwards towards Simon. And hid his face. He trembled looking at them. A sad and concerned look appeared on the woman's face, and she said, "Oh my God! Come to mamma, my baby?"
The little boy hid his face in his arms and shook his head violently, "No! No! No! No, I won't! You are lying! You are lying! Uncle! Uncle, please save me!"
Simon subconsiously held the little boy, who seemed to be shivering and looked up to the lady and the man. The man looked at Simon apologetically, before he said, "I am sorry, Mister. Our son is in a very vulnerable state right now." Then turning to the little boy, he said, "Dante, my boy! Lets go home, my boy."
"No! NO!" Young Dante yelled as he shook his head with everything in him, and held Simon's clothes tightly. "Uncle! Uncle, they are not my parents! Uncle, they are bad people! Uncle! Please save me!"
The woman closed her mouth and cried. "Oh my Dante! We are sorry! We should not have been so harsh towards you."
The 'father' looked at Simon, and smiled smally, and he said, "Kids these days. He is a very naughty boy. And we had just reprimand him a little harsh way and he ran away from the house." He then looked back at the five year old Dante and he said, "Dante, let's not annoy Uncle anymore. And let's go, alright!"
But the little boy was shivering and he shook his head at once. No! No! No! Not at all! Uncle, don't send me away from them! They are no good people! Please." The man pressed his lips seeing Dante being so stubborn and his voice turned firmer. "Dante! Stop being a headache now, and throwing tantrums. Lets go home."
"Shh! Honey. Please don't scold him. He is scared." The woman said in a gentle voice, before she stretched her hands towards him, and said, "Dante. Let's go home, baby. Ack!" But the next second, Dante slapped her hands away from him, and said, "Y- You are evil! Don't touch me!"
And that made the man furious! He held Dante's hand and he pulled him. "Let's go, Dante. Stop being a trouble, and creating a fuss."
"No! No! No!" Dante cried as he did not want to let go of Simon. While the latter looked at them and noticed everything. "Stop!" He said, while holding another hand of the boy.
His sudden interruption made the couple stop and turn to look at him. Dante used this distraction and he withdrew his hand before running back to Simon and hiding behind him. And this made the couple highly displeased and they frowned. While the man said, "Yes, sir? Do you need something?" His tone was still polite but his gaze was shooting daggers at the little boy behind him.
Simon for a second did not say anything and just looked at them in their eyes. And the man said, "Sir, if it is nothing then, please let us go with our son. We have something important to attend. And saying so, he stepped forward towards Dante. This made the boy clutch the fabric of his pants even tightly. But Simon stepped in front of Dante, shielding him behind and said, "A child never fails to recognise his parents."
This particular words brought a big frown on their forehead and he said, "What do you mean by that. Now you will start believing a small kid over adults?"
To his words, Simon Sterling chuckled and he said, "Well, the days that have come now. It is better to trust kids more than adults."
