Chapter Eight: A Leap of Faith

As Ava sat there, hands entwined with Mu Yusi's, she felt a sense of trepidation wash over her. What was she getting herself into? She barely knew this man, and yet, she felt drawn to him in a way she couldn't explain.

Mu Yusi's eyes locked onto hers, and Ava felt like he could see right through her. "I know you're scared," he said, his voice low and husky. "But I promise you, Ava, I will always be honest with you. I will never hurt you."

Ava's heart skipped a beat as she looked into his eyes. She wanted to believe him, she really did. But could she trust him?

As she hesitated, Mu Yusi leaned forward, his lips brushing against her ear. "Take a leap of faith, Ava," he whispered. "Trust me, and I promise you, it will be worth it."

Ava's heart was racing as she pulled back, her eyes locked onto Mu Yusi's. She took a deep breath, and then, she nodded.

"Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll trust you."

Mu Yusi's face lit up with a smile, and he leaned forward, his lips brushing against hers. Ava felt a spark of electricity run through her body, and she knew, in that moment, she was in trouble.

As they pulled back, Mu Yusi's eyes locked onto hers, and Ava felt like she was drowning in their depths.

She knew she had just taken a leap of faith, and she could only hope it wouldn't end in disaster.

As Mu Yusi stood up to leave, Ava felt a pang of uncertainty. What had she just gotten herself into? And what was Mu Yusi motive for doing all this?

As she watched him walk out of the café, Ava couldn't shake off the feeling that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine.

Meanwhile, Marcus was watching from across the street, a look of concern etched on his face. He had been working for Mu Yusi for years, and he knew his boss's reputation for being ruthless in business.

As he watched Ava and Mu Yusi's interaction, Marcus couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. What does Mu Yusi want with Ava? And what would happen to her once he got what he wanted?

Marcus's phone buzzed, snapping him out of his thoughts. It was Mu Yusi.

"Marcus, I need you to dig up more information on Ava's father," Mu Yusi said, his voice firm. "I want to know everything about his business dealings, his allies, and his enemies."

Marcus nodded, even though Mu Yusi couldn't see him. "Yes, sir," he said. "I'll get right on it."

As Marcus hung up the phone, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was caught in the middle of something big. Something that could potentially destroy Ava's life.

And he was torn between his loyalty to Mu Yusi and his growing concern for Ava's well-being.

As Marcus began to dig deeper into Ava's father's business dealings, Mu Yusi received a call from his grandmother.

"Yusi, I know you're meeting with that girl Ava today," she said, her voice firm but warm. "Why don't you bring her home for dinner? We'd love to meet her."

Mu Yusi chuckled. "Grandma, you're moving too fast. I just met with her today, and I'm just making moves. It's not that serious yet."

His grandmother laughed. "Oh, Yusi, you're always so cautious. But I know you. You wouldn't be spending time with her if you weren't interested. Bring her home for dinner, and let's meet her."

Mu Yusi shook his head, smiling. "Grandma, I'll think about it. But for now, let's just say I'm getting to know her."

His grandmother sighed. "Fine, Yusi. But don't think you can hide her from us forever. We'll meet her soon enough."

Mu Yusi laughed. "I'm not hiding her, Grandma. I just need some time to figure things out."

As he hung up the phone, Mu Yusi couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had taken a leap of faith with Ava, and he was eager to see where things would go.

But little did he know, his grandmother's curiosity was only the beginning. His family's expectations and Ava's own secrets would soon come to the forefront, testing Mu Yusi's feelings and resolve.

As Mu Yusi ended the call with his grandmother, he couldn't help but think about Ava. He had only just met her, but there was something about her that drew him in.

He thought back to their conversation, and how she had opened up to him about her father's plans. He admired her strength and determination, and he found himself wanting to protect her.

But he also knew that he had to be careful. His family's expectations and his own business dealings made things complicated. He didn't want to rush into anything, but at the same time, he couldn't deny the connection he felt with Ava.
