Blake's POV
The next morning, I got up early and got ready to leave with Kyle and his mate. Time was not on our side. We had to leave before anyone woke up or else we would be in trouble. Once I was done with everything, I walked out of my room and went down to Kyle's room. I lightly knocked on his door. I heard footsteps approaching, and the door was opened. Kyle appeared in front of me. " Are you ready? It's time to go." He nods his head. " Yes. I'll bring her down right now. You can start the car." " Alright. Be careful and don't get caught." I was about to walk away when Kyle grabbed my arm. I looked at him. " Thank you. I'm grateful that you didn't condemn my mate for her past. I owe you one," he said, looking emotional. " There is no need to thank me. She is your mate, and I am sure the Moon Goddess has her reasons for bringing you two together. Who am I to ask or go against that? Besides that, you are my brother. If you accepted her, and you are happy with her, there is nothing more I could ask for." I smiled and gave him a pat on the shoulder. I walked away and went to my car. I sat in the car and waited for the couple. As I thought about Kyle and his mate, my thoughts wandered to my mate. I had not talked to her. I was thinking about calling, but I decided against it. Once I hear her voice, I will be distracted and not focus on the matter at hand. I need to first get Kyle to a safe place. After that is done, I will go directly to Brielle's house to see her. I have to see her beautiful face. I just don't want to lie about my whereabouts to her and I can't tell her right now. I noticed Kyle walking towards the car with Morgan. She couldn't walk faster because of her injury. I was still skeptical of her. I do not suspect her because she is a rogue, but because Kyle is my brother and I don't want anything happening to him. Kyle opened the back door and assisted Morgan inside. She groaned in pain. " Sorry babe," Kyle says, getting in after her. " Alright. We'll get going then. I hope no one saw you on your way out." " No one saw us. I made sure", Kyle says confidently. I take his word for it. If anyone saw him, he wouldn't have been able to walk out with Morgan. I drove out of the pack and got on the road. It would take an hour or two depending on traffic. The ride was silent well for me. I felt like a third wheel with the two love birds at the back. I watched them through the review mirror. Kyle was affectionate towards Morgan. I was seeing a new side of him. In him, I could see myself. A boy in love. I could see that he felt his mate's pain, and he was worried about her. He kept asking her if she was comfortable or if she needed anything. Third wheel? I felt like a common chauffeur. No more than ever, I wished that Brielle was with me. This sucks. Kyle had given Morgan some pills that knocked her out. He had her lay her head on his lap as he gently stroked her hair. " I can see that you love her. It must be hard not to be with her in the open." I said to Kyle. " I don't believe it myself. I never thought things would turn out this way, but I can't say that I am complaining. But I wish she had a normal life, and we met in the best of circumstances. But I guess nothing comes without hardships. We just have to overcome this so we can live the life we want together." He was right. Nothing came without difficulties. If only Brille was a werewolf, she would have been in my life every day and night. I would have claimed her the moment I saw her. But I guess it couldn't be worse than Kyle's situation, which I don't feel about. " I get it, Kyle. Whoever thought that things could turn out like this. But I know no matter, you will get through this." " Thanks, man. I appreciate your support greatly. I hope I can return in the future," he says. I smiled at him through the mirror. " You can return the favor to me by being safe. I would hate for anything to happen to you," I told him.
" Don't worry about me. I won't let anything happen to me "
After our heartfelt talk, we stopped at a roadside diner for some breakfast. Morgan and Kyle went inside the diner and I stayed outside filling the car with gas at the gas station next to the diner.
Once that was done, I followed inside. The two found an empty booth, and we sat beside each other. I walked towards them and slipped into the seat across from them.
" Sorry, I took so long. We can order now."
" No problem. I took the liberty to order for us. I got your breakfast as usual," Kyle says with a knowing smile.
" Alright. Thanks, I guess."
Morgan looked sick, and she was trying really hard to keep it together. I was worried about her. But I didn't express it. She will be fine as soon as we get where we are going. I will call a doctor to help her out.
A waitress approached our booth with our meal and placed it on the table. 3 coffees, two black with one spoon of sugar and the other with 3 teaspoons. Kyle ordered buttered toast, sausage, and sunny side eggs for me sprinkled with black paper. He met my usual as expected. He got a bagel, with scrambled eggs and beacon. Morgan got a bagel with avocado and eggs as well. We had breakfast in silence. Once we were done, we hit the road.
