Blake's POV
We arrived at the vacation house. I parked the car and we went inside. The place was just as I remember it. It has been a while since I came down here with the family. Times were much more fun when we were children. As we grew up, we all kind of wanted our space and didn't like a family outing. " We are here guys," I announced once we were inside. The house was like a huge cabin in the woods. I walked around the house to check if there was anything out of place or if anyone was hiding somewhere inside. I went up the stairs to check out the rooms. After going through six rooms in total, I verified that it was all clear and safe to occupy.
" Alright. I checked things out and everything is okay." I said. Morgan was sitting in the living room. " Kyle. I trust you know your way around, so I think I will leave you two to it. This is as far as I can go." " Thanks Alpha. I am sorry for putting you through the trouble." " It's nothing serious. I am glad that I could help," I said to him. There was an awkward silence between us, so I took it as my cue to leave. I'm sure the two love birds would love to be left alone. " Uh, okay, so I'll get going. I'll leave you two. If anything happens, call me immediately, alright." " Yes, I'll call you man. Once again, I am sorry for troubling you. I know you miss your mate as well," he says teasingly. I smiled at him without denying what he said. " I'm glad you know," I said, walking away. I waved at him while walking out of the house. " Goodbye, Take care you two!" I hollered" We will!" He replied. I closed the door behind me and walked towards my car. I got inside the car and got back on the road. It was already late, but I was not going to go back home without Brielle. It took me an hour and I stopped in front of Brielle's house. I looked towards her window and saw the lights on. I stayed in the car just looking at her window. I was kind of hoping she would look out the window and see me.I couldn't wait for that. She might never look out the window. I was about to text her to come outside when I heard a tap on the window. An old lady was standing there. I recognized her to be Brielle's grandmother. I rolled the window of the car down to talk to her." Hello there young man," she greeted me with a smile. I could see where Brielle got her pretty smile from. Even at this elderly age, her grandmother is beautiful. I could almost imagine my Brielle at that age. I cleared my thoughts before I got distracted. I gave my million-dollar smile and said, "Hello grandma. How are you?" " I am fine," she replied. " I was busy in the kitchen and I noticed your car waiting out here. Tell me, son. Are you perhaps waiting for someone?" I chuckled awkwardly, not knowing what to say. I must have looked like a stalker. " I, uh.. Actually.. Yes. I am waiting for someone. I am a friend of Brielle's and I wanted to tell her something, since I haven't been able to come to school." I saw her eyes lit up in surprise. " A friend of Brielle's?" " Yes, Mam." " Oh dear. I didn't know Brielle had a friend. I thought she was too much of an introvert for that. I am pleased to hear that she has found herself a companion," she says happily. I found her sweet and easygoing. She was right about Brielle. She doesn't have friends at school and only has me. I am not even her friend. " Yeah. Brielle is really a good person. I like spending time with her," I admitted honestly. " Well then, would you like to come inside? You said you were here to see Brielle. I was taken by surprise, but I was happy with the invitation. " Can I, really?" I asked hesitantly. She smiled and said," Of course. I can't let a friend of Brielle stay out here. Come on in." With that, I wasted no time getting out of the car and followed her into the house. She led me into the living room. An old man was sitting there watching the television. He didn't even notice our presence until his wife called him. " Honey, look who I have here," she announced, and he turned his head, looking over his shoulder. " This is Brielle's friend, and he will be joining us for dinner." Dinner? She didn't say anything about dinner. I am not complaining though. I would love to have dinner with Brielle's family. I held back my excitement. " It's nice to meet you son. What is your name?" Brielle's grandfather asked. " Oh dear!" Her grandmother exclaimed. " In my excitement, I forgot to ask your name." " My name is Blake," I said," Blake Grayson."
" Well, nice to meet you, Blake. Take a seat and I will go up and check on Brielle."
I took a seat on the single couch and smoothed my hands on my pants nervously. I wanted to make a good impression, but so far I think I am already in her grandmother's good graces. I was surprised that they didn't have a problem with Brielle's friend being a boy. I thought they would be skeptical, but they were not.
It was awkward between me and her grandfather. He continued watching TV without a word. I let it be. Right now I just wanted to see Brielle's face that I had been longing for. My wish was soon granted when I heard someone rushing down the stairs. It was her. Her strong scent hit me like a tidal wave. She appeared in front of me looking tired. I almost leaped from the couch to embrace her, but I remained aware of our surroundings.
" Blake?" She said my name, looking at me as if she didn't believe I was there, in front of her and in her house
