Blake's POV
That scream. They are already here. We don't have time. Trouble was upon us. We did not even see this coming. I should have stayed on guard at all times. One moment of weakness and the enemy got their chance to sneak up on us. Everyone out there will be in danger. How do I keep them safe without knowing where the enemy will appear? This is really bad. It's not only pack members that are out there, guests are also here that will be involved in this mess.
I made contact with the boarder patrol to be on guard and tighten security. How many are the enemies? It's been a while. In fact, an attack on the pack had never occurred for a long time. Even before I was born. I am not experienced at this. No matter what, I need to get a grip and keep my cool.
" Blake! Its him. He is already here. What do we do?" Brielle cried out. She had just calmed down from her panic attack.
I wish I could have told her that things were going to be fine, but honestly, I was scared as well. This was too sudden, and we are sure as hell not prepared to fight.
Before I could answer, Brielle, Kyle, Morgan and my parents came inside the house in a rush.
" Dad, Kyle, what is going on out there? Where did that scream come from?"
" We are under attack. Our defenses have been breached," my father said seriously.
I looked at mom, Brielle, Morgan and Romi. They absolutely can't be involved in this. So do all the women and children that are out there. If this is a battle, we have to make sure that they are safe."
" What do we do, father? We are not prepared for this."
It was chaos. Screams and cries were heard from outside.
" No matter. We will have to defend everyone from attack. Gather all able warriors and let's head out."
I shook my head.
" No, father. You have to stay with mom and everyone else. They will be defenseless if we all leave."
" Alright then. It's time for you to act, Blake. You are the Alpha now, and it's time for you to protect the pack."
He was right. I couldn't rely on him for everything.
" Alright. Gather all able warriors and get them in position. Move the guests to the shed in the back and others can come into the pack house. No one should be outside. The enemy must be kept at bay and not allowed to advance any further."
I gave my orders. Kyle said goodbye to his mate and child.
I turned to Brielle or had spaced out.
I touched her, and she snapped out of her reverie.
" I know you are worried, Brie. I'm going to try my best to make sure Julian doesn't get to you, but I need to know that you will be alright. You need to pull yourself together and stay inside. Don't ever come out, no matter what."
" How can you expect me to stay put? It's my fault that he is here." she argued.
" Now is not the time. Don't forget that you are human now. You can't do anything to him, or you'll die."
Before she could put up a fight, I turned my back against her.
Our family was just looking at us in confusion. None of them knew the real truth about Julian and his connection to us. But I have no time to explain. We have to go outside and start fighting.
" Father, please watch over them. Kyle and I will go outside to meet with the warriors."
" Don't worry son. Do your duty and I will do mine."
I gave Brielle one last look before leaving with Kyle following behind. I hope she doesn't do anything that will endanger her.
Outside, it was destroyed. All the decorations for the ceremony were trashed and people were running around. Rogue wolves in their form were fighting with pack warriors. My eyes scanned around to see if I could find Julian. He was target.
" What's going on, Alpha? What was that between you and the Luna? Do you know who is behind this attack?" Kyle asked and I clenched my fists.
" No time to talk, Kyle. Let's go."
I ran ahead and attacked the wolves who were attacking my people. Kyle understood and joined me.
Through the mind link, I informed all the warriors to make sure everyone who was alive was taken to the shed and made sure a few warriors guarded it.
I fought the wolves using my wolf speed to evade their attacks. While fighting, I made sure to be on the lookout for Julian, who was still nowhere in sight.
I finally managed to tackle the wolf to the ground and I wrapped my arms around it's neck and snapped it. I didn't know how many there were on the enemy's side. But so far, I've already gotten rid of 5 wolves. I looked towards Kyle, who had already changed into his wolf form, fighting off the enemy wolves. He was doing fine.
As for Julian, I couldn't find him anywhere, and it worried me greatly. I expected him in the forefront, but his rogue warriors are just acting on their own without him to lead them. It was making me uneasy. I know that he is here somewhere, but where and why the hell is he doing playing this hide and seek? The ground began to clear, and there was no one but warriors and rogues fighting all around. Many of the rogues had taken a blow, but our side did too.
If this fight doesn't end any time soon, things will end badly for us all.
" Where are you, Julian? Show yourself you bastard!" I growled loudly, wanting my voice to reach him wherever he is.
