Brielle's POV
Things were proceeding as planned. It's been four days since we visited Kyra. Tonight was the night we performed the summoning ceremony. As for Xavier and Julian, Blake has already dealt with them, and they understand everything about the ceremony. We informed everyone as well, and they were worried but supportive as well.
I blame myself for everything that is going on. If I had just put that spell on them, they might not have been in our lives right now. If only I could turn back time. I would be able to set a lot of things right. But enough about that. I can't do anything about that, but I can do something right now. I should get ready. It's going to be a difficult night.
I was in the room when I heard someone knock on the door.
" Come in," I said.
Morgan went inside the room. She looked worried. She's been trying to stop me from going. I understand that age is concerned, but I can't stop now.
" I'm just here to wish you luck before you. I would hate for you to leave without seeing you off."
I was in the middle of putting on my shoes.
" You don't have to worry, Morgan. I'll be fine. I promise."
She still looked unconvinced.
" There is nothing I can say to ease your worries. To be honest, I'm just putting on a brave face, but I am so scared that something could go wrong. I prevent myself from thinking about it too much because I don't want to talk myself out of it. If there was any other way that could help me avoid this. I would take it in a heartbeat."
Morgan sighed and sat on the bed.
" I know, I know. I am sorry for making such a fuss. I shouldn't be adding more stress. I hope for your safe return with all my heart."
" Thank Morgan. I've only been able to come this far because of your support. Once this is over, let's go out somewhere to get some fresh air."
" Of course. I'll be looking forward to that," she replied with a smile.
I was happy that I was able to lighten the mood.
She left and I finished up getting ready. This time we took Kyle with us. He was driving the car I was in while Blake was driving ahead with Xavier and Julian. He insisted on it because he didn't want it to go wrong. We left it at that.
We arrived at Kyra's house just in time. She welcomed us warmly. Everything was ready and in place for the ritual.
The day before, she told us that the blood of the one who cast the spell would be needed to make things work. I had to tell her everything. She was astonished but she certainly believed it. We were talking over the phone so we couldn't talk too much.
Kyra led us to the back. There was a shed. Blake and Kyle led the two inside. To prevent anything from happening, we had Xavier and Julian in silver-coated shackles. They had to bare the pain for their freedom. Even though I don't trust them, they were at least they were being cooperative and doing everything we told them.
We went inside the shed and there was a pentacle drawn in the middle surrounded by lit candles. We stood aside as Kyra stood on the other side.
" We are about to begin the ritual. I advise everyone that once it's done and the demon is before us, don't do anything that will make them unsettled or angry."
All of us agree that we would be calm.
" Alright then. It's time. Come closer, Brielle. You need to do this with me."
I did as she instructed. Blake stood right behind me for support.
Kyra started chanting a spell. As she was immersed in her chant, the wind started blowing around us. Her eyes turned white and blood came out of her nose. I couldn't help her because she instructed us not to interrupt the ceremony. The wind blew harder and a black vortex appeared in the middle of the pentacle. The atmosphere changed. They became colder, making me get goosebumps.
The vortex dissipated and before us stood a man with a large, strong build dressed in a black tarted robe. Long black tresses hung around his face like a curtain. Only when he looked up could we see his face. His face was pale, and he had dark orbs for eyes, and he had small horns coming out of his temples. His fangs peered out of his mouth.
I swallowed, being only a few feet apart from it.
" Who dares summon me!" he bellowed furiously, frightening me. I didn't move and stayed composed. Blake was closely behind me but, as instructed, he didn't approach me.
" Kael sir, please calm down. It is I that summoned you sir." Kyra says.
What? She knows who this demon is? She didn't mention it before. What's going on?
" You witch! Why the hell did you summon me here?"
Kyra lowers her head. " Forgive me, sir. I summoned you because we need your help. Please help us."
The demon, Kael, sat down and closed his eyes.
" You disrupted my meditation. I should have your head for this, but I'm not in the mood. Since you have brought me all the way here, state your business."
" Thank you, sir," Kyra said.
" This is Brielle. She is here because she needs someone to get hell fire for her. Can you please her with this?"
Kael's eyes snapped open, and his gaze landed on me. I felt my body tingle and the hairs on the back of my neck stand. I was crazy scared. I wanted to run out of here, but I felt like my body was heavy and even if I wanted, there is no way I was going to do it if I ran.
" Does she want the hell fire? What for?"
I couldn't say anything to him. I couldn't even make out what he was thinking or his expression.
" Yes, she is the one who needs it, sir."
Kyra was respectful and fearful of the demon like she was used to that. I wonder how she knows this Kael and why she never told us anything.
A smirk appeared on Kael's face, and he got up from the ground. He made his way to me, and before I could step back, Blake stepped in front of me like a shield. He stood in front of Kael, hiding me from his gaze.
" Oh dear. Who might this be?"
" He is Alpha Blake. Brielle's mate. Please forgive him, but he is very protective of his mate."
" I don't bite though. I just wanted to get a closer look at the one daring enough to try and acquire the hell fire," Kael says, sounding amused.
He turns away from Blake, making me let out ap sigh of relief. I was afraid he was going to hurt him.
" No matter. What I want to know is if they know the price to pay for their request. Are they ready to pay for it?" Kael asks in a more serious tone.
" Yes, they do, sir," Kyra replies.
" Alright then. Let's get down to business, shall we?"
He turned back to us and then snapped his finger and a flame lit from his index finger. On the other hand, a scroll appeared on his palm.
" Once we come to an agreement, the flame is yours."
