"Let's go... let's go!" Ola Faustin shouted angrily as he rushed toward the helmsman. He slapped the young man aside and took control of the helm himself.
His voice trembled slightly when he spoke, but the sea breeze masked it, leaving his subordinates confused. The pirates assumed their boss was simply too eager to plunder.
Excited, they pounded their chests in anticipation. Without waiting for Ola to take the lead, the other ships next to the flagship charged straight toward Asa.
"Asa, there are pirates blocking the way ahead!" Aurora's warning snapped Asa out of his thoughts.
Pulled from his deep contemplation, Asa's expression darkened.
"You fools don't know life from death," he muttered coldly. The inspiration he had just been struck with vanished completely, replaced by an overwhelming urge to kill.
"Hahaha, there's a woman on board!"
"Kill them all! Offer the women to the boss!"
"Kill! Kill! Kill!"
The ships on both sides collided, and the pirates swung their thick iron chains, hurling iron balls at Asa's mast.
His eyes turned icy. Reaching for his waist, he channeled electricity through his body. The iron chain coiled around him crackled with energy, transforming into a long whip radiating with electric light.
"Electromagnetism – Whip of Iron Sand!"
The chain, originally composed of iron sand, had been extracted from the ground on the island of sunshine and hope granted by God. Using electromagnetism, Asa had developed a technique known as the Iron Sand Sword.
Both the Iron Sand Whip and Iron Sand Sword served similar functions, but while the sword was meant for close combat, the whip extended infinitely for long-range attacks.
"Hoo hoo!!"
As electricity surged through it, the whip cut through the air, glowing brilliantly under the sun.
It stretched forward, the tip suddenly twisting to strike a pirate attempting to climb aboard.
The first few pirates didn't even comprehend what was happening before their bodies were severed in half. They plunged into the sea with loud splashes, their blood staining the waters red.
"What's going on?!"
"What happened??"
The remaining pirates, poised to cross over on the iron chains, froze in place. Their horrified gazes locked onto the bodies of their fallen comrades. Fear gripped them.
"Where's the boss??"
"Boss... he ran away!"
One of the pirates turned around and saw that the flagship had already turned tail, fleeing at an almost unreal speed, like a miserable, beaten dog.
Before they could react, the Iron Sand Whip—now thinner than a thread but still brimming with deadly energy—lashed toward them again. The dazzling light, though clearly electricity, sent a chilling sensation through their spines, making many tremble uncontrollably.
Under the force of electromagnetism, the iron sand whip extended infinitely, its electrical field keeping it razor-sharp and resistant to breaking. Its destructive power was terrifying—it could cleave a pirate ship in half with a single strike.
The sharpness rivaled that of swords wielded by master swordsmen capable of cutting iron!
Meanwhile, Ola Faustin gripped the helm tightly, pushing his ship to flee at full speed. With the wind in his favor and the vessel's own power, it shot forward like an arrow released from a bowstring.
After covering several miles, he finally felt safe. Letting out a long sigh of relief, he wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and turned to look back.
Asa's Iron Sand Whip, now as fine as a hair, remained just as lethal. Under electromagnetic control, it moved with the precision of an arm, striking wherever Asa directed it. Each flick of his wrist claimed the lives of a dozen men. A pirate ship was cleaved in two, sinking into the depths. Many pirates, witnessing this slaughter, wet their pants in terror.
"Try the power of the electromagnetic cannon!"
Though Asa had been cutting down enemies with his Iron Sand Whip, he found the process slow. It was far less efficient than Ten Thousand Thunderbolts, so he stopped his movements.
With a thought, the iron sand—like a scythe of death—retreated, gathering into his palm.
He separated a small iron sphere the size of a coin. Electromagnetic force instantly generated a magnetic field, adjusting the launch trajectory. Asa locked onto the pirate ship with the highest number of enemies.
As a propulsion method, electromagnetism could vastly enhance the speed and power of projectiles—making them a hundred times stronger than standard naval cannonballs.
"Super Electromagnetic Cannon!!" Asa flicked his hand.
"BOOM!!!"
The iron ball tore through the air, generating a deafening roar. The intense friction with the atmosphere ignited it, causing the iron to rapidly melt. The heat became so extreme that the metal began evaporating.
"BOOM!!!"
A fraction of a second later, the electromagnetic cannon struck the pirate ship barely 200 meters away. The sheer force obliterated the vessel, reducing it to splinters.
Flames erupted as the ship and its crew perished in an instant!
The impact didn't stop there. Upon hitting the sea, the electromagnetic cannon left a massive hole in the water's surface. Steam rose as the friction-generated heat vaporized the seawater, only to be swept away by the wind.
"Help... help!"
The surviving pirates were overwhelmed with terror. They had set out expecting to plunder riches and seize beautiful women, yet what awaited them was the merciless scythe of death.
Their own boss had fled faster than a rabbit the moment things turned dire!
Some of the more quick-witted pirates abandoned ship, diving into the sea in a desperate bid to survive.
But these small fry were beneath Asa's notice. To him, it was no different from crushing a few ants. His expression remained indifferent as he resumed his deep contemplation.
"The Iron Sand Whip and Iron Sand Sword are only useful for clearing out weaklings. Their efficiency pales in comparison to Judgment of God and Lightning Speed. Their only real use is against swordsmen in duels—similar to how Kizaru condenses light to form his Ame-no-Murakumo Sword."
"The electromagnetic cannon is powerful, but it has drawbacks. Unlike lightning, the iron ball isn't elementalized, meaning it's still affected by air resistance and pressure. While it remains incredibly fast, skilled fighters like Se-Bachi could predict the trajectory in advance!"
"Plus, the friction-generated heat is a major issue. If the iron ball is too small, it will evaporate before reaching the target. If it's too large, it wastes energy!"
"I also need to develop a way to manipulate friction and elasticity at will using electromagnetism!"
Lost in thought once again, Asa ignored the world around him.
Aurora, witnessing the true destructive power of the Thunder Fruit for the first time, was utterly shaken. This was on a completely different level compared to when he had killed Killer Goldie on Elbaf Island.
Her delicate face was partially concealed by bangs blown by the wind, her gaze wandering.
Meanwhile, Ola Faustin—who had escaped several miles away—watched the scene unfold through his telescope. A cold sweat drenched his body.
"So this is the power of a legendary Logia Devil Fruit… terrifying… Thank God I ran fast!"
But as he calmed himself, a realization struck him.
"Wait! The young master brought such a monster onboard… Could it be to deal with Boss Bege?! I have to return and report this! The boss needs to be prepared!"
Gripping the helm tightly, he adjusted the sails to their fullest and raced toward the Mafia Base Camp!
