With a single move—Electromagnetic Pulse—Asa disabled all the surveillance Den Den Mushi in Infinite Hell.
Without delay, he began freeing the prisoners.
BOOM!!
The iron door of the bald old man's cell was blasted off its hinges. Asa swung his Thunderous High-Frequency Blade, severing the Sea-Prism Stone handcuffs around the pirate's wrists and ankles.
The blade, a condensed form of lightning held in constant vibration, was devastatingly sharp. There was almost nothing it couldn't cut—slicing through like a hot knife through fruit.
The moment the prison break began, the remaining personnel in the monitoring room noticed something was wrong. The screens turned to static.
Panicked, the guards slammed the alarm.
"Alert the director and warden immediately! There's been a prison break on Level Six!!"
Every prisoner held on the sixth floor of Impel Down was a monster in human form. If even one escaped, the World Government would have a major crisis on its hands.
Hearing the alarm, Deputy Director Magellan rushed toward the disturbance—followed by a much taller man in the same devil-themed uniform: the current Director of Impel Down, Ferdinand.
Beside them walked a cold, stern-faced man—the Warden, and behind him, a younger but deadly figure: Deputy Warden Shiryu of the Rain.
Shiryu wore a pilot hat, a cigar clenched between his teeth, and a long blade at his hip. The murderous gleam in his eyes was unmistakable—he was itching to kill.
"Shiryu, kill fewer this time. If your body count gets too high, your achievements won't outweigh your crimes," the Warden warned grimly.
Shiryu took a long drag on his cigar, exhaled slowly, and nodded.
"Understood..." he muttered, eyes closed, bloodlust barely restrained.
"This isn't enough. The four of us alone can't handle a full-scale riot. Contact Marineford—request reinforcements immediately!" Director Ferdinand ordered, face grave.
Marineford – Navy Headquarters.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?! An escape from Impel Down?! That's impossible!!"
Marshal Kong roared so loud it shook the walls.
Impel Down was a fortress. Since its creation, not a single successful prison break had occurred. The prison's wardens and directors were all admiral-level powerhouses, easily able to crush rebellions. And being located in the Calm Belt, surrounded by Sea Kings, even if you escaped—you'd die without a ship.
"Hippolyte D. Asa must not escape!" Kong's eyes narrowed.
The Navy's top brass had already been dispatched. At headquarters, only the upcoming Admiral Akainu Sakazuki and Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Tsuru, remained—but neither alone could stop Asa.
Minutes later, ten warships departed Marineford at full speed.
Back in Impel Down—
Asa finished cutting the bald old man's shackles. The man stared at him in disbelief.
"If you don't want to die, get moving. Free the others—we're escaping together!"
Had Asa not spent two months consuming chronic toxins, he could've escaped solo—silently, without leaving a trace. But his current strength wasn't at its peak. He needed shields, a distraction.
"Stop standing around—GO!" Asa barked, then turned toward the cell across from him.
With a surge of heat, he melted the eternal ice encasing Bundy Walder.
"Bundy Walder, the debt I owe you is now paid. What happens next... is up to you."
"Bah la la la la! I don't care about favors—but you saved me, and for that, I will repay you!"
Frozen for six years, Walder had little strength left. He would need time to recover.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
The sirens blared louder, echoing through every level of Impel Down.
From Level One to Level Six, all prisoners were wide awake, banging on their cell doors, shouting wildly in hopes that Asa would free them too.
But Asa didn't have time for the rest. He didn't care about any floor but Infinite Hell.
Though he knew pirates like "Big Barrel" Buster Choate were also here, he had no interest in saving those irrelevant to him.
"Walder, once your strength returns, destroy the elevator—buy us time!" Asa ordered sharply.
Better they burn someone else's stamina than his own.
"Got it!" Walder nodded firmly.
His confidence in Asa was absolute now. He saw clearly: the only path to freedom was following this thunder-wielding madman.
Had this been years ago, anyone speaking to him like this would've had a Multiply-Multiply Cannon to the face.
But after suffering soul-deep betrayal and defeat, the once-proud Walder no longer hungered for conquest—only vengeance against the World Government.
"MOMO TENFOLD CANNON!!"
He grabbed a broken steel bar, aimed at the elevator shaft, and fired.
BOOM!!
The steel projectile expanded tenfold mid-air, doubling in size and impact. The resulting force was unimaginable.
The wall near the elevator shattered instantly, a massive hole forming in its wake.
Even the ground trembled beneath their feet.
"Nice shot, Walder!" Asa praised without hesitation.
The Multiply-Multiply Fruit's power was terrifying. Asa's own Super Electromagnetic Cannon was still inferior in pure destructive force—unless he had enough space to fully accelerate.
By now, every prisoner on Level Six had gathered around Asa, hanging on his every word.
They had just been freed by him. They had seen his lightning, his Conqueror's Haki. In their eyes, he was no longer just a fellow inmate—he was a leader.
"Everyone rested?"
Asa raised his arm high.
"Then let's break out of Impel Down—the 'Iron Fortress'—and make the Navy and the World Government suffer!"
With that, he charged up the stairs toward Level Five, Bundy Walder right behind him.
"OOOOOOOH!!!"
The pirates roared, filled with adrenaline and hope, and surged after them like a tidal wave.
Asa grinned.
These crazed pirates made the perfect frontline meat shields.
With them paving the way, once he reached Level One, freedom would be within reach.
And Walder... Walder clearly knew what Asa was planning.
But still, he followed him—step for step.
