Chapter 127: Fishman Island!

Asa finished speaking meaningfully, turned around, and left.

Aokiji and Saul recognized the seriousness of the issue at the same time.

Watching Asa leave, the two couldn't wait to lead Caterina Depen and a group of pirates toward the warship.

Uncertain about the situation, they had to report it. If Asa truly planted an informant within the World Government—one of considerable status—what kind of devastating consequences would it bring?

...

Aokiji reported the matter to Kong as soon as he boarded the warship.

Marineford, Marshal's Office.

Kong crossed his arms, fell into deep thought for a moment, and ultimately decided to place the blame on Vegapunk.

He hated that man with every fiber of his being. His instincts were sharp, and he firmly believed Vegapunk had leaked this secret.

"Bah, bah, bah, bah!"

The Den Den Mushi connected to the highest authority of the World Government—the Five Elders!

"Moshi moshi?" said the elderly man with short blond hair seriously.

"Hippolyte D. Asa possesses a Devil Fruit-related item. It has spatial abilities and can store a massive amount of goods. Currently, this technology is only held by the World Government, correct? Before he left, he said something..." Kong got straight to the point.

Concise and clear.

"Say what you need to quickly, Kong. We don't have time to chat," said the elder with a goatee and long hair indifferently.

"Phew..." Kong calmed his anger and said, "Asa said before he left, 'If the World Government has this technology, why can't I?' How did he know we possess this technology? I suspect Vegapunk..."

"That's enough, Kong! You don't need to report trivial matters like this to us. Handle the navy yourself."

The call was mercilessly ended by the Five Elders. They ignored Kong's concerns and turned their attention to other matters.

"At the time, we sent Daniel to the Naval Scientific Research Department to retrieve the Elephant Sword. Based on Den Den Mushi monitoring and reports from soldiers along the way, they all claimed nothing was amiss. Vegapunk also confirmed the same."

"Vegapunk was under our supervision during the experiment. There shouldn't have been a leak. But why did Daniel only take the data concerning Devil Fruit transfer conditions?"

"Are you implying he lied?"

"It's not speculation. Daniel is definitely a spy for the pirates—Asa's accomplice. Otherwise, how could Asa infiltrate the highly guarded research facility?"

Their discussion continued word by word. The CP0 agent sent to the Naval Science Research Department had been burned to ashes by Asa, leaving no body behind. All they could do was guess.

"Daniel escaped. Who should receive his position?"

"I think Spandine is a good choice. How about him?"

"No. Spandine hasn't achieved enough merit. Putting him in power now won't convince the others."

"Let him train for a few more years and build up some achievements. Also, give him the Elephant Sword."

Following the Five Elders' discussion, Spandine's future was decided. At the same time, the Elephant Sword was handed to him. It might even fall into the hands of his son, Spandam, someday.

...

Asa left Jessica's dream house, carrying a mountain of food inside the Fortified City Bracelet, and quietly waited in the coating area for the ship's preparation to finish.

The craftsman had promised it would be ready within three days—but Asa didn't have the luxury of waiting that long.

As for flying directly over the Red Continent into the New World? Asa never considered it. He wanted to witness everything in this world with his own eyes. The Pirate World was filled with miracles—for instance, Fishman Island!

Missing the chance to visit the island located 10,000 meters beneath the sea would be a huge loss.

Asa was especially eager to meet Princess Otohime, the enchanting mermaid who gave birth to the ancient weapon Poseidon, ruler of the sea kings. She possessed innate Color of Observation Haki and could even sense people's hearts.

After waiting for over two days, Asa toured the entirety of the Sabaody Archipelago.

During this time, he earned some money, bought new clothes and fine wine, and stored them in the Fortified Bracelet.

The convenience of the bracelet was fully demonstrated here. No need to carry anything—just toss everything into storage.

For two days, Asa strolled openly through the area. The navy surely knew about it but made no move. Perhaps they still hadn't found a way to capture him successfully.

Back in the coating area—

A burly, honest-faced craftsman approached him respectfully and pointed toward the docked ship. "Sir, the coating is complete!"

"Oh?" Asa took a sip from his wine gourd and turned to look.

Sure enough, a thin, transparent film coated the ship he'd commandeered, refracting rainbow hues in the sunlight.

The preparation was complete—it was time to depart. He was beyond tired of the Sabaody Archipelago and eager for new scenery.

"Sir, we've re-coated the film on this ship several times. There will be no issues. I guarantee it will arrive at Fishman Island safely!" the craftsman declared, patting his chest.

Asa nodded silently. Even if something went wrong, it wouldn't matter. He could simply stand upright and arrive at the destination anyway—but that would mean missing out on the sights.

He boarded the coated ship and began the descent.

The seawater parted around the vessel as the membrane surrounding the ship began to expand...

Before long, Asa steered the ship deep into the ocean, toward Fishman Island.

Fishman Island lay 10,000 meters below the surface, inside a massive cavern beneath the Red Line. It was the only route pirates could take to enter the New World.

Despite its depth, the island was encased in an enormous bubble and featured sky and clouds.

Thanks to the nearby Sunlight Tree Eve, which transmitted sunlight from the surface to the depths, Fishman Island experienced day-night cycles. Locals even called this phenomenon "the favor of the sun."

The ship's slow descent lasted hours, but the journey was smooth—no sea kings attacked.

Sitting at the bow with wine in hand, Asa finally spotted the legendary island of the deep sea—Fishman Island.

From a distance, the island appeared enclosed in a large, double-layered bubble that shimmered under the filtered sunlight. An air pocket existed between the two bubble layers.

Asa, having stayed in Sabaody for two or three days, had already gathered information about the island.

Ships with proper coating from the archipelago must enter through the correct path. Otherwise, the coating film would merge with the island's bubble shield and strip away. Unlucky ships might even end up with two layers of coating.

These bubbles maintained the inner air pocket, and even if one broke through the barrier, the ship and its passengers would be swept away by the seawater within.

Thus, the only safe way to land was through legal means.

But... Asa scratched his nose and let out a burp.

He had no idea how to land legally.
