Chapter 2: Family

I've been reborn in this world for three months, and you're probably wondering why I called it 'this world.'Well, here's the plot twist: this world isn't Earth!"How do you know that?" I hear you ask. Oh, I don't know, maybe it's because I've seen not one, not two, but hundreds of fairies in my short three months of existence here. Yes, fairies! The tiny, winged troublemakers that sparkle like they just walked out of a glitter factory. Those fairies.Call me crazy, delusional, or whatever else you'd like, but I've been seeing these little pests buzzing around my crib for weeks now. At first, they tried talking to me. Cute, right? Except their "talking" sounded like a toddler banging pots and pans together while humming off-key. When I just stared at them like the confused baby I am, they gave up and started hanging around like glittery mosquitoes.Their looks practically screamed, "Welcome to Not-Earth, kiddo." And so that's when reality slapped me in the face. Heck, it's not even on the same map as Earth. Nope, this is some kind of fantasy world where fairies are real, logic has taken a vacation, and I'm stuck trying to figure it all out.So yeah, welcome to my life. Sparkly, chaotic, and officially off the rails.Other than the fairies, I believe I know my name in this world now.So, people keep saying my name over and over when they come to visit me, like they're trying to get my attention. I'm guessing that's my actual name. And, wow, I've had quite a crowd already. First, there's Mom, obviously, then a bunch of servants running around taking care of me, and—oh yeah—the flies... I mean, the fairies. There's this one kid who looks like he just stepped out of an angel-themed fashion show. He's got green eyes like Mom's and this silky silver-white hair that's way too perfect for a little kid. He comes by sometimes and gently touches my face while saying things I can't really understand, but he looks at me all sweetly, so I'm guessing he's saying nice stuff. Then there's the other kid, who's basically Mom's mini-me, but younger. He sneaks around like a tiny ninja, offering me random stuff and then poof, he's gone before I can even say thank you.Rattle rattleYep, that's the toy he gave me today. Who knows what it does, but it makes noise, so I'm into it.They're probably my siblings.Rattle rattle

Thinking about those two little guys gets me excited to grow up. I've never had siblings before, but it seems kind of fun. They fight, they tease, but they've always got each other's backs. Honestly, if I had siblings in my past life, maybe I wouldn't have felt so lonely and sad all the time.Oh, and just so we're clear, I'm a girl.Don't ask me how I figured it out. Let's just say, some memories are best left in the past. Trust me on this one.Anyway, back to the subject of how I learned my name. Every time they see me, they kept saying this word. Are you curious what my name is?Drum roll, pleaseBararabaaaamANYAThat wasn't exactly thrilling, was it? In any case, a lot has happened in the last several months. One day, as I was quietly sucking on my pacifier, I heard a booming voice, a man with a thick, deep voice. By the way, it's strange how their voice can reach up into my room despite the fact that all the doors and windows are shut.Anyway, judging on the tone of his voice, he sounds excited and joyful. My mother snatched me up and carried me out of the room as soon as she heard the mysterious man's voice.Stepping out of that room for the first time, it hit me: we're not just in any mansion or fancy house; we're in a castle! How cool is that? Maybe even a castle straight out of a storybook. Before we even reached the main door, we wandered through a maze of halls, stairs, and corridors—all covered in fancy red carpets. I couldn't miss the excitement in my mom's eyes. It was like she was a different person, trading her usual calmness with giddiness that's so unlike herI think I have an idea of who this man isAs we made our way down the steps, we arrived at these massive double doors—definitely the main entrance. And there, standing like he just stepped out of a fairy tale, was the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life! He was tall, with silver hair that shimmered under the light, his piercing blue eyes almost glowing with intensity. His broad shoulders filled the doorway, giving him this powerful yet elegant vibe. He looked like the perfect combination of charm and strength, exactly how you picture a prince charming in storybooks, but way more real.He looked surprised when we arrived, but as we got closer, his eyes lit up with happiness. With a gentle touch, he carefully took me from my mom's arms. I could see tears forming in his eyes as he looked at me, studying my face. The more I looked at him, the more I realized he was easily the most captivating man I'd ever seen.A warm smile spread across his face, and I couldn't help but smile back, my own heart filled with joy for some reason, like his happiness was contagious. His eyes teared up again, like he was about to cry all over again. Is that what they call diamond tears?I've seen it in videos online before—idols crying beautifully with diamond-like tears—and I always thought it was just some camera trick or special lighting. But damn, it's real!Is this what a family is supposed to be like? Is this how they typically react when they see their children?I can't quite recall how it felt back then, to have a family who eagerly awaited my return.Perhaps this is why I turned to reading and writing novels when I was still on Earth. It was a way to escape the harsh reality of being alone in the world, with no one by my side.As warmth surrounded me, I felt a sense of peace and comfort wash over me.His embrace and soft words wrapped around me, even though I couldn't quite understand them. But I could feel his joy and contentment, so I snuggled closer into the curve of his neck, wanting to soak in all that warmth. Now that I'm here, I'm determined to cherish this newfound family. Whatever the reason I got reincarnated into this world, I don't care. All that matters is that Anya deserves a happy life, and I'll make sure to make the right decisions for her, no matter who she may be.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡It's the middle of the night, and I woke up again.I fell asleep shortly after meeting my father, so they returned me to my crib.I was gazing about for anything I could see with my limited neck muscle strength. I then saw something crawling on the ceiling, and as I tried to focus my eyesight to see what it was, all of my baby hair sprang up and I shook violently.yes, imagine a baby trembling! The creeping figure emerged, resembling a hairless human with a tail as long as its grotesquely thin, skeleton-like body. Its dark brown skin appeared charred, and the most terrifying aspect was its grin, stretching from ear to ear. Its crooked teeth were exposed, and its eyes bulged wide, as if they were on the brink of bursting from their sockets, all while it fixated its gaze on me.I instinctively closed my eyes. I was trembling hard, I can't get its face out of my head. I tried opening my eyes again after a few minutes thinking that maybe, I was just dreaming.yes, I know I'm so stupidAnd yes, I regret it, why?The creature loomed before me, its grotesque face mere inches from mine, locking eyes with me as it grinned maniacally. Its chapped lips stretched unnaturally wide, almost consuming half of its face in a sickening smile. And then, with a voice that sent chills down my spine, it spoke some unknown language I cant understand. Each word dripped with a sinister undertone, sending shivers down my spine.I began screaming and shouting at the top of my lungs, even though I couldn't comprehend the creature's words. Suddenly, a bolt of light shot out and struck the menacing figure squarely in the head. The lights in the room flashed on, and the crawling creature remained above me but was now decapitated.I cried even harder because its green blood was dripping down on me.I saw my father, who appeared outraged, and my mother rushed to me moments afterwards, mother took me in her arms and embraced me. I cant remember clearly what happened or why the frightening creature died; all I remember is screaming my lungs out till I passed out from weariness. And that's the story of how I first discovered that humans can use magic in this world.
