Chapter 158: Are you convinced now?

None of the people who come here to spend money are good people. The fat boss knows this better than anyone else. There's a saying in the United States: "If you love him, let him go to New York, which is heaven. If you hate him, let him go to New York, because it is hell."

This nightclub is the intersection of heaven and hell. While the boss behind it is very powerful, the nightclub's power doesn't necessarily reflect the fat man's own power. At least, none of the people who come here to party can afford to offend him. Upon hearing Jiang Hai's words, the fat man began wiping his sweat more diligently. He was too lazy to pay attention to the boy over there and walked over to Jiang Hai's side. Smiling, he leaned in and said, "It's all a misunderstanding, just a misunderstanding. Everyone's here to have fun, no need to make things tense. Sir, you see, this guy's a star, and you did kick him. If this gets out of hand, it could be troublesome. How about we treat this as a chance to make friends? All your expenses tonight will be on me. What do you think?"

But before he could finish, Jiang Hai raised his hand, cutting him off. "Do I need your money? What I asked is what you're going to do about this situation, not for you to come here and stir trouble."

"This... this..." Although he knew that the people who came here weren't easy to mess with, when he saw the watch on Jiang Hai's wrist, he immediately realized he couldn't afford to mess with this guy. How could he dare to challenge someone wearing a watch worth nearly a million dollars?

Jiang Hai didn't realize that the watch he bought was quite effective, not only for picking up girls but also for socializing.

"You don't need to say all that. You're a star! You're probably doing this for fame, and I'll help you get it. Moses, call the police." Jiang Hai waved his hand and pointed at the guy who had just stood up, his face sour.

"I need fame? You're the one who needs it!" Hearing Jiang Hai's words, the kid seemed to be insulted, nearly jumping up and pointing at him. But Jiang Hai simply scratched his ear, unimpressed.

"This guy is Justin Bieber." Seeing Jiang Hai's disdainful look, Moses Adams hesitated for a moment before walking over to Jiang Hai and whispering in his ear.

"Justin Bieber? Oh, the guy who sang 'Baby,' right? Weren't you banned from the U.S.? What are you still doing here?" Jiang Hai sneered, though he didn't know much about celebrities. However, Justin Bieber didn't need any more fame—his reputation in music and his private life was already enough.

"Hmph!" Realizing Jiang Hai knew who he was, Justin Bieber couldn't say much. After all, he was a public figure. The mention of his deportation last year didn't help. His negative influence—fighting, photos of him doing drugs, smashing doors—had made him the worst idol ever. Recently, Usher, his mentor, had been advising him to lay low and avoid attracting the police. He couldn't be caught doing anything bad, or it could ruin his career entirely.

Justin had hoped to watch the NBA All-Star Game, but if the police showed up, it would hurt his reputation even more. He couldn't afford that, especially since he had lobbied to get former Rockets player Kyle Lowry into the All-Star Game.

Thinking this over, Justin Bieber had a headache. But those in his position had learned to bend and stretch.

As the saying goes, a wise man never loses in a confrontation. He realized that continuing to argue with Jiang Hai would only create more trouble, so he decided to yield. Smiling, he said, "What happened just now was my fault. I'm sorry. We all came here to have fun. There's no need to make things awkward. I was wrong. Please accept my apology. Tonight, your expenses are on me."

"No, no, no," the fat manager quickly added. "I meant that all your expenses tonight are on me." He laughed, pleased that Justin had handled the situation quickly. Covering up the scandal was the best move, as reputation was important both for the nightclub and for him.

"Well, I have to give something in return. It's not just about money; it's about making an apology," Justin Bieber said with a sly look in his eyes.

As they say, it's hard to strike a smiling face. Since Justin had yielded, Jiang Hai was momentarily at a loss.

"Boss, if it's really not a big deal, we can just let it go. After all, even if we call the police, all he did was spill wine in the room. At most, he'll get fined and suffer some reputation damage. And you did hit him, so calling the police probably won't benefit us. His reputation's already tarnished enough, and this one incident doesn't matter in the grand scheme. Why not just forget it?" Moses Adams whispered into Jiang Hai's ear, reasoning that Justin Bieber's actions were hardly criminal, just a scandal. It wasn't worth going to the police over.

Hearing this, Jiang Hai realized Moses was right. The situation was minor enough to let go.

"Are you okay?" Jiang Hai asked with a deep sigh, glancing at the two men before turning to Moses Adams. Moses, the ever-loyal lawyer, suppressed his anger, smiled, and assured Jiang Hai that everything was fine.

Since Moses said it was fine, Jiang Hai didn't pursue the matter further and walked straight to the fat manager.

"Give us a new private room. I want the same one, but clean," Jiang Hai ordered, his gaze firm.

"No problem, this way, please," the fat manager replied quickly. Although private rooms typically required reservations, today's incident had been unexpected. Since Jiang Hai was willing to make peace, the manager was eager to resolve the issue amicably. He led Jiang Hai and his group to a new room, where Jiang Hai's drinks and side dishes were replaced with fresh ones, and even more snacks were added. There was also an extra bottle of red wine, courtesy of Justin Bieber, though it was sent by his bodyguard. Even though Justin had yielded, Jiang Hai knew he wasn't entirely happy about it.

It didn't matter to Jiang Hai, though. After the incident, the thirteen beauties who had originally been surrounding the room were now scared off, leaving only two people behind. Moses Adams didn't care about the wine stains on his clothes; they'd be dry-cleaned later. He sat on the couch, flirting with the girl who stayed.

The other girl, named Maggie, had also been scared earlier.

"Can you accompany me to the bathroom? I need to wash up," Jiang Hai said, unsure of what to say as the room felt much colder after the incident.

Maggie, however, was more experienced. She leaned in and whispered, "Come with me?"

"Wait, you want me to go with you?" Jiang Hai asked, incredulous.

"Let's go!" Maggie chuckled, pulling him into the bathroom. As she led him away, Moses Adams, who had been rubbing his legs, noticed their departure and went deeper into the room, though Jiang Hai didn't notice.

Once inside the bathroom, Jiang Hai felt even more embarrassed. Whether it was from the alcohol or something else, his face felt as hot as fire.
