The man sighed, shaking his head like Ethan was being unreasonable.
"Fine, have it your way." He took a small step closer, resting his hands on the edge of the car door. "Look, I'll get straight to the point. Newton wants to talk."
Ethan arched a brow. "Talk?"
"About a deal."
Ethan stared at him for a beat before laughing under his breath. "Now I know you're joking."
"I'm not."
Ethan narrowed his eyes. "Newton screwed me over and tossed me aside. And now, after all this time, they suddenly want to talk about a deal?"
He scoffed. "Why would I even entertain this conversation?"
The manager leaned in slightly. "Because you're doing well, Ethan. You're making waves. Atlas Resort is all over social media, the launch was a massive success, and the investors are talking about you. Newton noticed. And you know how they are — when they notice something profitable, they want a piece of it."
Ethan clenched his jaw. Of course.
