Chapter 111- The Voice I Shouldn't Recognize
Logan's POV
The ride home from school felt too fast.
Maybe because my mind was focused on one thing—getting home and telling my dad to do something about this stupid trip.
I needed him to fix it.
The second the car rolled to a stop, I jumped out, slammed the door shut, and locked it. I didn't waste any time fumbling with my keys before pushing the front door open and stepping inside.
Empty.
The whole house was silent.
I frowned. Where is this man?
I checked my watch.
At this time?
I should have known.
Of course, he wasn't here when I needed him.
He never was.
And he definitely wouldn't be back until late at night—probably when I was already asleep.
I clenched my jaw, frustration bubbling in my chest. Before I could stop myself, I slammed the door shut behind me.
The boom echoed through the empty house.
