Pan was slashing at the creatures with the plague mana he had gotten from Aleric. He had no time to think, no time to do anything but react.
The wendigos, for there was no mistaking these cursed creatures, were countless. They had come down from the mountain in droves.
Brunhilde had placed a barrier around them, at the start, but that had not held up. And how could it?
This was no lone wendigo! This was an entire army of them!
"Hold the line!" Arnold roared, as he tried to keep his wife behind him. Pan had been separated from the two, and he was slashing and kicking as best he could.
"Pan!" Brunhilde yelled, and Pan felt as an arrow flew past him and lodged itself into the eye of one of the monsters.
"Thanks!" Pan yelled back, only to get a fistful of wendigo. The creature clenched its jaw over Pan's leg, and the nymph let out a scream.
