Lexus blinked. Everything was quiet. Here he was, in the form of a human.
The form of the beings he had hated for the longest time.
He looked at Pan, who was smiling at him. His hair red like the cherries Lexus loved so much, his eyes as blue as the sky he had not seen in centuries.
Lexus leaned in.
Pan placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"You don't need a master," Pan whispered, as he smiled. "You never have."
"But," Lexus whispered, pushing against the weak hold Pan had on him. "What am I supposed to do? Alone?"
Pan blinked. That was not a question he had considered.
"Tell me about the World Dungeon," he said. Maybe it was underhanded to fish for information now, when Lexus was so confused, but Pan had the adventurers to think about.
