Chapter 88: Silence

Pala looked on, as Telets ran off to scout ahead. The boy had mumbled apology after apology for being wrong the first time.

She smiled.

Oh, if Telets were a bit older…

"Pala?" Pala blinked at the blonde girl who was tugging at her sleeve. "Please teach me the barrier skill!"

Pala blinked. She didn't know the girl's name. The mage felt ashamed for that.

But now, as she was looking into her green eyes, she nodded.

"Amber," the girl said, as she looked at the dark tunnel they were traveling in. "What do you think the markings on the wall are?"

Pala blinked. For a second, she felt like apologizing to the girl that she didn't know her name. But then her brain turned on the adventurer's mode.

Because Pala could right her wrongs, yes, but only if she survived.

She took a step towards where Amber was pointing. The markings looked like handprints, but they were enormous!

Pala blinked, as she made a couple of steps to the left.
