Chapter 144: Why?

Nicodemus was brushing his hair, as he looked at the nymph. Being used as a mana stone was strange.

 The troll had no desire to break the connection.

This was not what he had hoped for when he had taken the nymph into his home.

No. He had expected a pretty face and that had been that.

But now…

"Good morning," the aged king greeted, as Pan shifted in the bed. "Your father sent over some mushrooms and now you are healed."

Pan blinked the sleep from his eyes. He had wanted to be home. To be with Brandon, and Solas. Heck, even Doran's spiteful grumbling was something he felt a liking to.

But…

"Ok, there is something wrong in your land. The curse," Pan double-checked his new dungeon grounds.

Yes, there had been an initial curse coming from Solaria, Pan mused.

 But the curse was still going strong.

And it was someone here, in Briar, who was keeping it strong and going.
