As she walked closer, close enough for her figure to be visible to Ken, she looked him straight in the eyes,
as if trying to show who between the two of them was superior, as if to show who stood at a greater advantage.
Her gaze locked on his sitting figure, staring like one would at an insignificant creature.
But no, they couldn't, because the person they were trying to look down upon looked straight back at them, and no, they were unable to assert dominance.
The eyes they were looking at had something which they could only deem to be greater, something unacquired and unknown.
She didn't know what it was, she couldn't understand it, but she knew one thing: she knew that even if her eyes were trying to look down on him, it still felt like his eyes were looking down on her.
They felt... they felt... like a G...
Before she could acknowledge her thoughts further, the light bulb that was faintly lighting the room shut off; it seemed that it had exhausted its long-lived lifespan.
But then, the darkness came, becoming larger in an instant, covering everything in sight.
She felt it, she felt the darkness ever-growing, blinding her and in the process losing sight of Ken.
She felt an overwhelming amount of fear, fear that shot like a bullet, moving from her feet to the upper side of her body.
She couldn't even think, all of this fear, and the person responsible was an 11-year-old child.
But she was too overwhelmed by fear to the point that she had forgotten he was a child; she had forgotten all names and ages, she had forgotten all things but one.
All she could think, all she could do, was survive.
She almost screamed, almost screamed out to the guards in agency,
How could she die now, how could she die before getting her revenge,
how could she die before enforcing the karma she had saved up all these years for that man?
So yes, she wanted to scream, her eyes releasing faint tears that never seemed to flow.
All her thoughts and ambitions were rendered useless in a short fragment of a second, and now before she could enforce those so-called actions,
she was going to di...
Then suddenly, a red light could be seen, instantly brightening the room.
The light seemed diffused, cool, and evenly distributed.
'A glow stick,' she thought, calming her mind to some extent.
And Ken, the child she deemed too dangerous, was now holding what seemed to be a red glow stick in his left hand.
Ken just looked at her,
unaware of the fear she currently felt,
unaware of how monstrous he seemed to be,
unaware of how much of a monster he had
become.
_______
5 minutes, that's how long it was, and the two of them said nothing.
Lady Nagant, feeling exhausted by this, let out a faint sigh,
"Still aren't ready to talk?" she asked as she began walking away.
As she walked, her footsteps became fainter and fainter, but before they could entirely disappear into the pending distance,
"What do you want?" Ken asked, which made her stop her movements and smile in response.
Turning back, she walked towards his direction, back to the displacement she once stood.
"What do you mean?" she replied with a smile, causing Ken to stand up.
Her heart jumped slightly, but she could feel that he posed no danger.
"You lock me up in Tartarus and ask to speak," he said with confidence,
"you don't give me food or basic human essentials when I refuse, in order to push me to my limits, forcing me to speak with you when I choose not to," he spoke as he walked back and leaned against the wall that stood behind him.
"They want something," he said.
'They,' Lady Nagant thought, taking full attention to his words.
Although she was calm, her facial expressions were oblivious, as if Ken had just discovered something of great play.
"Let me reframe the question then, what do they want?" he asked, looking dead into her eyes, penetrating deep within them as if his eyes were locked deep at her very soul, but then…
Clap-clap, clap-clap-clap!
A clapping sound was heard from the sides of the wall.
Walking in was a person who appeared to have been listening to everything.
He wore a grey suit; his hair was blond, but he stood almost 6 feet in height, a height that was rather very tall for the people he was approaching.
"I have always heard you were a bit smart, but to this extent, you amuse me," the man said as he walked closer, revealing his scarred face, a scar so large it overshadowed his good looks.
Although healed, it couldn't be ignored.
"What are you doing here!" Lady Nagant shouted with confusion, clearly not expecting his arrival.
"Give us some space, my child," he spoke with a smile of amusement, causing Lady Nagant to gain a face of protest.
"But you said I can speak to him by myse…",
"No!" the man replied, "I was wrong, this is far greater than you can handle," he explained, his expression shifting, becoming one so serious.
But Lady Nagant, too focused on her protest, didn't notice.
"But ... but... Are you saying I'm not smart enough to recruit a child!" she shouted with visible anger.
"I can ...I can d…",
"Are you stupid?" Ken interrupted her protest, causing her to turn her head.
She looked at him with disbelief, wondering if the words she was hearing came out of the mouth of a child.
"The only reason he brought you here was because you are a woman;
he wanted me to be tamed by my hormones, causing me to trust you, a trust gained due to good looks ,and the fact that you own a pussy," Ken said, so cold and serious.
"And I see you were too smart for that," the man replied, causing Lady Nagant to look in disbelief.
Not once, not one in her whole life had she been humiliated like this; it felt as if she was a third wheel, an intruder, an outsider watching uninvited.
Then, her emotions were too much; her once held-back tears dropped.
Although they were just two drops, they didn't go unnoticed.
The man took his hand and placed it on Lady Nagant's shoulder.
"We will talk later," he said as she walked away, leaving them to indulge in their soon-to-come conversation.
Ken, the child who took part in her assault, couldn't help but feel as if he had gone too far, and his plan had failed.
For he was hoping Lady Nagant would kill the man standing in front of him due to the anger he had fueled;
he hoped she would get angry and take her revenge, killing the man, giving him a slight chance for an escape, but it didn't work.
It only fueled her once-kept hidden anger, for Ken knew that the man in front of him was the same man who would eventually be killed by Lady Nagant 4 years from now.
He was the Chairman of the Hero Public Safety Commission.
_____________
As Lady Nagant rushed out of the building, she fell to her knees, crying, her eyes swollen and weak, her once beautiful hair turned ugly, dirty, and hideous.
"AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!" she cried, loud enough for the guards to hear, but they paid no mind, for this was Tartarus,
a place where screams of this nature were common.
But her screams were different;
it was as if they held some weight with their every sound,
as if they were speaking,
as if they spoke a promise,
a promise unbroken and inevitable,
a promise of Death.
